Oh Abbi glines you never disappoint me! Move over rush Finley there I a new man stealing my heart....woods kerrington. Let me just say during previous books woods in my mind was the always do the right thing gentlemen of this group of friends. He is the rescue the damsel in distress type of guy. Well he still is but good LAWD add a dose of sexy/possessiveness to the pot and i had plenty of fanning myself moments.
This is Woods and Della's story. Remember me saying that woods has always been the man to rescues a damsel in distress, well he saved Della at the gas pump lol. Let me explain.... When we're first introduced to Della it's through her nightmares. Della spent her life locked away/up in her home because her mother was mentally ill. After the suicide of her mother she is finally free and with the encouragement of her BFF (who is awesome btw) she sets out on the adventure of her life. Equipped with a car, cash and no destination in site her adventure begins. But she doesn't get very far without GAS.....But how does she pump it? No worries woods Kerrington to the rescue.
Let's just say this first meeting between these two was so intense it lead to dinner and a unforgettable one night stand! Oh woods you are a BEAST in the bedroom, lol. With one night stands there aren't suppose to be feelings involved right? Well that was sooooo not the case here. One night of unforgettable passion lead to so many mixed emotions on both ends.
As this story continues to play out Della continues her adventure in Vegas and makes a quick return to a beach front paradise curiosity of trippe ( I love him), new job included. Little does she know Mr. Kerrington her new boss is literally the man in her DREAMS since her one night stand! This reunion was PRICELESS lol!
There's one little problem though, woods is suppose to be getting engaged. To none other than the heiress of a huge corporation to further improve his families wealth and status. At this point I'm seriously screaming ARRANGED MARRIAGE seriously, smh! Needless to say poor woods was miserable and seeing Della reminded him of all he wanted in a woman.
I loved woods and Della's characters. Della struggled with confidence. Confidence she was good enough and wouldn't turn out like her mom/grandmother (mentally ill). The things she endured in her life time broke my heart. Woods story was heartbreaking also. He worked his whole life to one day take over the reigns of what his grandfather built. However to ensure the position he has worked so hard for his father is making him sacrifice his happiness by marrying someone he doesn't love. There are no words for old man kerrington, he was evil and conniving as they come. Seeing Della as a threat to his companies future his mode of action was to get rid of her from his sons life, NO WORDS!
Let me just say I already loved woods but the ending of this book made me putty for this man. Operation get my woman back and tell my father to SHOVE IT is a go! This book was awesome. I devoured it in one day! The secondary characters I loved! Especially trippe, mrs. Glines I'm needing to read tirppe's story ( hint hint). I will say the last page of this book was a definitely will leave you with a punch in the gut feeling. My heart broke for woods!
