Apollyon by Jennifer Armentrout Book Review

Amazon Description

Fate isn't something to mess with and now, neither is Alex. Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods and Alex herself to bring her back. The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex's power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex's connection to Seth isn't the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole an Apollyon can't be killed theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries. Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer or she might become the God Killer herself.

Jennifer Armentrout you never cease to amaze me. I have been eagerly waiting for this book for a while. This is book four of the covenant series. What can I say a girl needs her Aiden St. Delphi fix, yummy! If you aren't up to date with this series STOP reading now and go to your nearest kindle/nook site to get started.

This series has been one of my favorite in the paranormal LOVE category since I began it. Let me just say I have been a HUGE fan of all Mrs. Aremntrout's paranormal works. You seriously can't go wrong with any of them just FYI.

Ok so lets get down to it.

"I know you’re still in there, Alex. Underneath that connection, you are still you. The woman I love.”- Aiden

Yup you guessed it this story picks up right were the last one finished. Alex is possessed and in a cage. Let me just say kudos Mrs. Armentrout because this whole Alex possession thing was sooooo exorcist but in a less creepy way. Alex struggles to find the TRUTH and who can she really trust. Is her "my seth" telling the truth? Or is Aiden telling the truth? Oh decisions decisions and only the fate of the world lies in the balance.

As this story plays out Alex does find herself again( fist pumps Mrs. Sarcasm is back) by breaking the bond with seth. Ok operation save the world is a go. But how? So we know Alex is one of the apolloyns and there can only be one, the god killer. This is a fight for life people. Throw some crazy gods, warriors/sennitals, and some beastly creatures in the mix...... This equals one awesome story with a kick a** fight to the finish.

Fight was exactly what Alex and her crew had to do to stay alive. On there quest for the truth OMG so many questions were answered. What do the gods get out of this? Who is seth's family/god relation/god gone rouge? Let me just say he is one crazy SOB. I'm referring to the god related to Seth but ya seth is also. How does Alex defeat seth and not let him drain her power? Although many questions were finally answered some were not. For instance where the heck is Alex's father?

This book was hot and full of drama/action. It was a page turner for me because I had to know what happened next. As usual I loved many of the characters and hated many also. Alex and Aiden relationship was heart wrenching at moments. There love is strong but there is always one little problem,SETH and the Apollyon bond they share. Only one thing can be said about Aiden he has the patience of a saint and is a great man (sigh). If anyone ever doubted his love for Alex, smh!

I loved this book. As usual I was left wanting more and still with soooooo many questions. With all the chaos going on in this series Mrs. Armentrout gave the reader another piece to this Puzzle in an intense series. I can't wait to read the next book! Already needing more Aiden. Please hurry!

Great job Mrs. Armentrout!

Book rating: 4.5stars/A

Cheers,
Dr. Books

Any chance you could identify the golden God you found to represent Seth in the above pic?
