NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling book!
I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.
Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

Nell Hawthorne is in love with her life-long best friend, Kyle Calloway. Their young love is invincible and life is full of promise; then one night Kyle dies suddenly in a tragic accident and Nell is forever changed. She meets Kyle's older brother Colton for the first time at the funeral. They both struggle to move on with life as best they can. Years later, they meet again in New York City, and Colton realizes that Nell has never really gotten over Kyle's death. She seems to be harboring a deeply rooted pain, a heavy weight of guilt and regret. He knows he shouldn't get involved, but he can't help himself. Trust doesn't come easily for either of them, and they both have demons. Together, they learn the purpose of pain and the meaning of healing, and the importance of forgiveness.
Excerpt
It was just a single sob at first, a quick, hysterical inhalation. Then a second. And then I couldn't stop it. Tears, a flood of them. I felt the sand grow cold and muddy under my face, felt my body shuddering uncontrollably. He didn't tell me it was okay. He didn't try to pull me against him or onto his lap. He kept his hand on my shoulder and sat silent next to me.
I knew I wouldn't be able to stop. I'd let go, and now the river would flow un-dammed.
No. No. I shook my head, clenched my teeth, lifted up and let myself fall down hard, sending a spear of pain spiderwebbing out from my arm. The pain was a drug, and I accepted it greedily. It was a dam, stemming the tide of tears....

Author Interview
1. Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born in Metro Detroit and I still live there now, about an hour outside the city.
2. Tell us about something that has just/recently happened in your life that you would like to share?
Well, right now the big deal is how crazy Falling Into You has gone. It’s caught a lot of attention, which is awesome. It’s on the NYT, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. I’m still kind of shocked.
3. If you had to sum up falling into you in 30 or less words, what would you say?
Childhood best friends fall in love, boy dies tragically, girl can’t deal, meets boy’s older brother at funeral. Feels guilty for feeling connection, fights it, ends up in love.
4. If you gave colton and nell an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?
They’d say thanks for reading our story. They’d hope you find something worthwhile in their story, some kind of release or healing.
5. If your book was made into a TV series or Movie, what actors would you like to see playing your characters? Please send me pics lol!!!
I see Kellan Lutz as Colton, Liam Hemsworth as Kyle, and Amanda Seyfried as Nell.
6. List 3 books you just recently read and would recommend to readers?
Hmm. I just recently finished Music of the Heart by my amazingly talented and very good friend Katie Ashley. Read it! It’s sneaking up on me on Amazon! I’d also recommend The Cards of Life and Death by Colleen Gleason and The Boldest Man in Ballymuir by Dorien Kelly.
7. What is Your Favorite Wine?
Moscato. I don’t have a favorite brand, but I’m partial to Barefoot wines in general.
8. Is there an Author that you would really like to meet in person?
I might be revealing my inner fangirl by admitting this, but I’d LOVE to meet Stephanie Meyer or JK Rowling.
9. What authors have inspired your work?
I’m inspired by good writing. I’m inspired by my fellow indie and hybrid authors. I read A LOT, so everything I read inspires my work. A character trait, a turn of phrase, the way a book works out, an overall feel, all this stuff is inspired by and drawn from the things I read by my friends and peers.
10. EBook, Paperback or Hardcover?
YES. I’m super busy so I tend snatch an hour of reading here and there on my Kindle App for my iPhone, but I love the feel of a good paperback in my hands (preferably on the beach!). Those classic books, the favorites like Twilight and Harry Potter, those I have in hardcover on my shelf.
11. Are you currently working on any upcoming projects?
Duh! Have you seen my backlist? LOL. I’m always, always writing. Right now I’m working on Big Girls Do It Pregnant, which ties up both the Big Girls Do It series and the Rock Stars Do It series. After that I’m going to go work on the follow-up novel to Falling Into You, which isn’t a direct sequel but rather a parallel follow-up. It will give the epilogue to Colton and Nell that people are going rabid for, but it will be a different story. That’s all I can say right now.

Book Review
Mrs. Wilder Mrs. Wilder....smh. I can always count on you to make me an emotional wreck after a read. I was late getting around to reading the book compared to many of my friends. Best advice they all gave me was have mr. Kleenx on hand for the ENTIRE book. To all of you I thank you lol!
Mrs. Wilder this year has become one of my most favorite authors. The way she takes tradgey, sensitive topics, and downright turmoil in people's lives and molds it into a love story can only be described as TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL! Those are exactly the words I used when someone asked me to describe this book.
This is Nell and Colton's love story. As fate may have it these two are brought together by a tragic event/death...You know what they say in the midst of weddings/funerals family comes out of the wood work. Well here that's actually the case. Kyle is the younger brother of Colton and BF/BFF of Nell who was tragically killed. As much I want to go into the night of Kyle's death, i cant. I'm emotional drained and all out tears. Trust me read the book, it's a scene you won't forget.
Nell/Colton's chemistry begins the night of the funeral.... Picture a dock, a guitar and bottle of Jameson. This seriously for some reason made me think of the ottis Redding song sitting on the dock if the bay. yes weird i know, dont judge me lol. But for those interested find link below, lol. Of course neither act on the sparks/warm fuzzies and now this journey of love begins.
Now I'm going To take some time to talk about these two individually. This story was told from both nell and Colton's POV. Ill start with Nell.
In the beginning Her character was the girl next door falls in love with the boy next door. After Kyle's death she is haunted by that night and blames herself for causing his death. to a point it even consumes her. Why you ask? Read the book, not giving it away! She is numb. This numbness/pain turns to CUTTING and excessive drinking. Well years after the dock meeting/venture she finds her self face to face again with Colton. Yup you probably guessed it the warm fuzzies/tingling feeling is still there. Well as this book continues we see she struggles with her new found feeling/emotions toward Colton.
When Colton first saw Nell on that dock he felt it. Was this wrong? Hell his life had been nothing but wrong choices and turns..... But he knew this wasn't going away. When he sees her years later.... yup he was right that chemistry was still there. Through all the mixture if emotions he also sees she is still as broken as that night on the dock but the pain was worse now. A broken person can recognize another broken person. In so many words yes he has walked in her shoes. Was he still broken/hurting from his past? Yes but he was healing also. As this book progresses we learned about Colton's past and what he has been through. Lets just say I fell in love with him and hated his parents! His story is one of SURVIVAL and it is heart wrenching. Thank goodness for large boxes of kleenx.
I LOVED this book. Colton taught Nell how to grieve, survive, and love again. Nell's love for Colton filled a void in him that had been there for so many years due to his encounters in life. As this book approached the end I had my fingers crossed happy ending pleaseeee. You know the saying dont count your eggs before they hatch well don't. Lets just say in the end something happens to cause Nell to run again. Colton finally has found the one thing in life that makes him fully complete and he refuses to let it slip through his hands. Needless to say he fights for his woman (fist pumps). But will he be to late to save her?
The ending of this book had me just as emotional as the rest, smh. I was proud of the strength Colton showed in the end but after all these two had already been through geez. Smh the turn of events in the end was gut wrenching. As I stated before this love story was TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL from beginning to end.
Good job Mrs. Wilder. You have earned the title of fine wine once again!
Book rating: A +/5stars
