Unattainable by Madeline Sheehan Book Review

Tuesday, October 1, 2013

Warning: This is not a virtuous and tender love story. It’s chaotic, ruthless, and tragic. This story takes love and kills its innocence, steals away the pure moments, and crushes the hearts of the broken. A story born in childhood, tying one girl to one boy, leads to a destructive path—that hurts more than it doesn’t, that shatters more than it heals—testing the love that binds the two through a lifetime.

Tegen Matthews is the daughter of Dorothy Kelley, a club whore in the Hell’s Horsemen. A plain little girl, Tegen falls into the gritty world of the motorcycle club. When she meets a sweet, caring boy, she embraces the warmth and affection he shows her. Cage West is the son of the president of the Hell’s Horsemen. Tall and blond with deep brown eyes, as he grows up Cage realizes the power of his dimpled smile and smooth drawl. With one chance encounter, Tegen becomes forever tied to Cage. Following is a wayward journey that is filled with regrets, mistakes, and heartache, pulling at the threads that hold them together. Cage and Tegen fight hard but love harder, and in the end, what matters is where the journey takes one girl and one boy, who have been twined with one another since the beginning.

This is Tegen and Cage’s story.

Love doesn’t erase a broken heart, and it sure doesn’t change people. But no matter how old, how flimsy, how frayed the rope of love is, it keeps you tethered to the people you love.

Oh where do I even begin with this book. This whole series has been one damn unstable emotional roller coaster ride for me. Only you madeline sheehan and your way with words and dirty mouth bikers, lol. This is book 3 of this series and as usual it's a far cry from your boy meets girl next door romance.

This is cage and tegan's story. Tegan is Dorothy's daughter and for those who don't remember who D is she's the woman who was shot in the head by the wife of her lover at the end of book 2. Tegan at one point was a girl in love with her BFF since she was eight years old but giving your virginity to the that same drunk BFF then hitting him with the I love YOU the next morning....wow... Needless to say cage's "I'm not that type of guy" left a heartbroken/damaged tegan.

Smart and equipped with dreadlocks tegan leaves for California in the hopes of never returning. Her life is one full of meaningless sex and some anger issues. Oh did I mention the meaningless sex has a name, ZZ. Oh ya he's back. Cage is a man whore there is no other way to describe him. However, every man whore has his day and meets his match. A quick trip back home to help her mom out turns into a nightmare/rekindled love affair. BUT of course as we know two dysfunctional people in love, disaster is brewing!! DISASTER I don't even think does the turn of events that occurred justice. Seriously, think about getting shot at the hands of supposed family and a father/son relationship that takes a path of NO RETURN. BUT hey In the long run family is family, the good bad and even disastrous!  Oh and the secondary characters I loved. Dirty and Ellie have something brewing I the shadows of this one. Not going to lie it was heartbreaking at times to read but the chemistry between them was awesome.

Cage/tegan had serious issues but in the end will their love for one another save them or continue to destroy whats left of them? The consequences of the choices made are what leads to disaster and trust me all involved feel the after effects.
Mrs. sheehan you FREAKING ROCK!  You never disappoint me!!  I need the next story ASAP!

Cheers,
Dr. Books
