Summary
Wanting a new start, Lindsay Stevens has deliberately transformed herself from a small town, nerdy bookkeeper to a sleek, high-powered corporate accountant. With a pile of unpaid bills and the IRS on his back, Shane Elliott, Hollywood's hottest tattoo artist, needs any accountant to bail him out. Now with their lives intertwined the two must learn to accept each other, themselves and their love.

Ok so I was kinda unsure when I first started this book since I had never read a Kim Carmichael book, but I totally ended up loving it! The book switches between Lindsay and Shane's points of view for different situations. I do love books like that because we get to see what each person thinks and it helps better understand their personalities.
We started by meeting Shane mchottiepants hearing a loud noise coming from his new neighbors apartment. He literally kicks her door down and finds her with a bleeding forehead and takes her to urgent care against her wishes. Apparently Lindsay is terrified of needles! Which makes her a perfect match for a tattoo artist right?
Lindsay wants nothing more than to stay far away from Shane and any other bad boy that can use her like all the others. She moved to California to get a fresh start and on her own. Their relationship starts as friends while Shane tries to give her time and Lindsey tries to fight her feelings.
Shane and his group are people I would LOVE! They look out for each other and always stick together. Of course Shane needs the human calculator named Lindsay to help with his IRS problem. Lindsay thinks he will walk away once she helps him and her emotions and logic have a battle within. Their are secrets kept and pasts hidden that cause one big explosion, but when is a book a great read without some drama?
I had NOT read anything from Kim before, but I will be following her now! Kim, consider yourself stalked!!! I REALLY loved this book and all the characters in it! You are not left on a cliffhanger, but there will be more books following other characters that you love for Permanent. At the end we get a glimpse of book 2 and I cannot wait!!!
Rating: 4.5 stars

Q.  What character did you connect with most in Permanent?
A. I would say Lindsay because she is trying hard to fit in and I feel like that a lot.

Kim Carmichael began writing eight years ago when her love of happy endings inspired her to create her own. She has a weakness for bad boys and techno geeks, and married her own computer whiz after he proved he could keep her all her gadgets running. When not writing, she can usually be found slathered in sunscreen trolling Los Angeles and helping top doctors build their practices.
