Meet jessica:
I'm a wife, mother and avid a lover of all types of books, but romances are my main favs. My husband likes to say reading is my obsession but I just say it's my passion... there's a difference.
I decided to take the leap from just reading romance to writing it and by debut novel, Picking up the Pieces will be released this summer.
Book Review:
Predictable? Yes! But oh so heart warming at the same time. It sounds and reads like an old fashioned love story. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, well you know how it goes.
Love, passion, heart ache beyond belief and just when you think you've got this one figured out... Well...
Here's the story of Emerson and Luke. Both from the same small town, both not having what you would call a picture perfect childhood. But from the day they became neighbors as children, their lives are entwined forever. Emerson losing her parents at a young age, and Luke being raised by an abusive father and drunk mother. They are both the only person that they have.
That is until the faithful night Luke sneaks into Emerson's room through the window, life is changed forever. The next 8 yrs for Emerson are filled with blackness, hurt and loss. When Luke comes back from the Marines and being in Iraq, he can't understand why his once friends including Emerson HATE him.
You'll read about the past from both characters, as well as the present. You'll feel the heartache that Emerson goes through, the friends that stand behind her through it all, loving her unconditionally. The unbearable loss she goes through, Luke not understanding or knowing of anything that has happened since he left. What more can go wrong?
That is something you'll have to find out on your own as you read this incredible story.
Cheers,
