Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley Book Review

Blurb:
Lanie Heron isn’t looking for love—no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club...

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She’s too polished and too classy for his tastes. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can’t say no. And he doesn’t regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that’s ever happened to him—in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

Meet Kristen:
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Book Review:
It's no secret Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors. So needless to say ANY book she puts out I have calendar alerts in my phone. This is book 2 of her chaos series and from book 1 let's just say I get flash backs of some pretty intense scenes (fanning self moments). However this book in my opinion was a little deeper. It dealt with serious issues of possible PTSD, self worth, self forgiveness, and alcoholism just to name a few items. Don't get me wrong there was still plenty of hot sweaty sexual moments but mrs. Ashley also showed her readers what lies deep beneath all that sexy leather and Christian louboutain shoes.

If you haven't read book one please stop reading this review now!

This is lanie and hops story. If you read motorcycle man you no lanie as the BFF of tara and the fiancé of the idiot who went in debt to the Russian mob to pay for flowers for a wedding. Lanie can only be described as cool and down to earth. Also look wise she could  grace the cover of vogue magazine. Since the most tragic night of her life years ago, (when her fiancé  used her as a hunan shield), she has  thrown herself into work and made an attempt to have mindless/no strings attached sex.  Well the work thing was productive but  the no strings attached sex part really didn't work out, lol.

To say lanie had been going through the motions of life since her recovery is an understatement. My heart broke for her. She battled daily with constant thoughts of the decisions/choices she not only suffered but her BFF as well. In her mind this was unforgivable...smh. Well thank goodness for a hot sexy mustache wearing overbearing alpha male biker. This one in particular is named hop! Hop and lady's relationship was a hot and frustrating one at times. Ofcourse no strings attached sex wasn't going to work.... Lanie was "fine wine" and hopper knew it. Yes this biker had brains and Serious balls i found out as I continued to read.  He and lanie were from two different worlds but when these two collided .... Goosebumps! Hops life hadn't been easy. Does he have baggage/skeletons? Yes
One thing I loved about hop was he was always HOP, what you saw was what you got. Moments in this book frustrated me because at times I felt he was lady's dirty little secret.

As this story progressed something in lanie changed, hope. Hope that despite everything that happened to her she would have a normal life With the man that completed her in so many ways. But will her realization be to late? I mean a man can only take so much...smh. Mrs. Ashley also gave her readers glimpses into the lives of the secondary characters.  Let me just saw between lanie's family and chaos motorcycle club wow! There wad never a dull moment.

I enjoyed this book and have enjoyed this series so far. However my favorite series by mrs. Ashley is still the fantasyland series. The chaos series so far has been fun enjoyable reads but it hasn't gripped me from beginning to end like so many more of mrs. Ashley's books.

Good job mrs. Ashley.
Can't wait to read more from you.

Cheers,
Dr. Books
