Book Review
Wilson Mooney Almost Eighteen (book #1)
I had marked this book down on my TBR list some time ago but when Mrs. De la o contacted me asking if I would be interested in reading/reviewing this one I jumped at the chance (yup I took it as a sign, lol). When this book was recommended to me by some friends/followers it was described as funny by some, sad by others, and even downright frustrating. I can describe it as all of the above which is typically the behavior of high school girls.
This is a book of forbidden love between a high school girl and her government teacher. Their love story is a hot, sexy, fun and emotional one. Wilson is a high school senior. She has not had the easiest life. Abandoned by her mother on her grandparent’s door step, she has been in boarding school majority of her life. As this story starts we see Wilson is now all alone. Both of her grandparents have died and the only family she has is her BFF jonnie. Let me just say jonnie was my favorite secondary character in this book. She is the true definition if what a BFF is supposed to be.
Well Wilson like most high school girls has a crush on her teacher, max. What she didn't expect was for his feelings to be the same. Max's character was a loving and gentle in a sense. Yes he was HOT but his patience with Wilson in this book made me love him even more.
As this book plays out Wilson goes on a ski trip to Aspen with her roommate Cindy (who btw Is a total WITCH). While on their trip Wilson and Max begin a relationship that quickly leads to so much drama it will make your head spin. Their love is forbidden due to the age situation of course so their relationship needless to say has to be kept secret. Well we all know that when secrets/lies come in to play the blow back Is intense. Trust me there were so many nail biting moments I just knew for sure their cover would be blown.
This book had it all from drunken parties, crazy crushes, jumping out of windows, falling down ski slopes, and awkward jealous moments. Max/Wilson's relationship was an enjoyable one to read. I was rooting for them the whole time. Both had their insecurities and second thoughts which could be annoying at times. However their love for each other was obvious but would it enough to whether the storm they faced back home in the real world?
Great job Mrs. De la O. I loved this story and was left wanting more.

Wilson Mooney eighteen at last (book #2)
**Note if you haven't read book 1 stop reading this now! ***
If I thought book one was good this book rocked my world. It starts with Wilson/Max back at school and trying to be normal in a sense. BUT how normal can you be when you have a viper named Cindy who could ruin everything? Again this chick is a real piece of work! Wilson's eighteenth bday is on Christmas. I actually think that's pretty cool btw. Her and max's relationship has grown stronger. They agreed to wait to be intimate 30 days/ her bday. Well it's bday time and guess what?
If I didn't already love max, well this book made me fall even harder. He gave Wilson the best bday ever, a sense of family. Back in aspen they spent time with his family who gave her an unforgettable bday.
Well it was really an unforgettable bday for Wilson because Tragedy struck max's family that day and his dad died. Max from a family already divided gets an even bigger blow; one of his own has unleashed the BIG SECRET. My heart broke for Max and Wilson so much at this point.
Wilson had just found a sense of family again and it was ripped right from her all in the same day. Not wanting to cause max more grief she calls the one person she knows will have her back, nick. Umm yup she runs right to another man. At this point I seriously have issues with max's whole family, including him.
Nick is a great friend to Wilson and yup secretly in love with her. Let me just say alcohol and grief don't mix. The kiss shared between these two on a drunken night, screamed drama as soon as Cindy walked in the door and caught them. At this point I'm thinking GAME OVER.
As this story continues Wilson falls more and more into a state of depression. Thank goodness for kickass BFF, jonnie to the rescue. I seriously love this girl. My heart broke for Wilson. She had given her self completely to a man that didn't fight for her despite the circumstances but regardless she loved him.
The ending of this book rock my world, seriously. The saying Secrets don't make friends and in this case don't keep boyfriends around either. When Max finally comes to his senses to fight for his woman, leave it to the WITCH of aspen (Cindy) to unravel everything. This seriously left me heartbroken and with a WTH moment.
I absolutely loved this book. Great job Mrs. De la O. I need more of this story ASAP!
