Goodreads Description
Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.
In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.(less)

I'm a huge fan of Mrs. Hoover's work. Last year I read her slammed series and was an emotional mess. Wait I'm actually that way with all the books I've read by her, lol. When I found out a book 3 was being added to the slammed series based on will's POV....happy dance time! Will and lake's story can only be described as pain stakingly beautiful.
NOTE: if you haven't read books one and two of the slammed series, STOP reading NOW. Go to your nearest kindle/book site and get started.
When I finished point of retreat (book 2) I was in a happy place. Emotional yes but still happy with the happily ever after of will/lake. So what comes next? THE HONEYMOON
This book was Will's version of their pain stakingly beautiful journey. I adored will already but this book made me fall even harder in love with this man (sigh). Many moments in this book I got to relive/experience from the first two books but there were definitely some serious WTH moments to. Just goes to show there are really always two sides to a story, The good and the bad.
This book was beautifully written. Mrs. Hoover hands down gave lovers of this series a chance to embark/relive this couples journey. Whether it be from their first kiss, to their first poem/performance, first time listening to the Avett brothers together or even their first BUTTERFLYING moment. This book was simply AMAZING.
One of the most emotional moments in the story for me was reliving JULIA MOMENTS (lakes mom). Only words to describe this woman is guardian angel. I've heard my whole life " mama knows best" and truer words never rang true as I read this book. Again I loved this book and this whole series!
Great job Mrs. Hoover! Your talent/writing never ceases to amaze me!
For your listening pleasure ill leave you with some will/lake music. Here's an avett brothers playlist. ENJOY!
