OMG I'm still getting off my book high right now so excuse any incoherent babbling!
HIM starts out with Sarah heading home to attend her brother's wedding. She hasn't been home in 7 years, and it was all because of HIM! One night that shattered her heart leaving her broken all those years! When she gets home things are some much different then what she expects and does everything she can to avoid Will and reliving that night. It seems everyone in her family has incorporated HIM in their lives and no one told her!
Can her heart handle getting broken all over again? When her brother informs her that Will has been hurting too, she is angry that he thinks he can be. So what really happened all those years ago? What left her so shattered she ran? Why couldn't she talk to him? If he loved her so, why didn't he go after her? These all all the things you'll be asking yourself as you go, and they will all be answered.
I wasn't really a fan or books that go back and forth between the past and present, but Carey really makes it work! I cannot imagine this story without it! It flows so perfectly, making it all fit like a puzzle. The past is really like a flashback when something triggers it and helps us better understand their history. I love how real it all feels! Their love isn't rushed or lust filled, it's so pure and magical! I was sucked in emotionally within the first few pages and literally got angry when I had to put it down to be a mom! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I can't wait for book 2 HER to come out and we get to see it from Will's POV!
