Claim Me by J. Kenner Book Review

Saturday, July 20, 2013

For Damien, our obsession is a game. For me, it is fiercely, blindingly, real.

Damien Stark’s need is palpable—his need for pleasure, his need for control, his need for me. Beautiful and brilliant yet tortured at his core, he is in every way my match.

I have agreed to be his alone, and now I want him to be fully mine. I want us to possess each other beyond the sweetest edge of our ecstasy, into the deepest desires of our souls. To let the fire that burns between us consume us both.

But there are dark places within Damien that not even our wildest passion can touch. I yearn to know his secrets, yearn for him to surrender to me as I have surrendered to him. But our troubled pasts will either bind us close . . . or shatter us completely.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

J. Kenner spent more than ten years as a litigator in Southern California and Central Texas, using her rare free time to indulge her passion for writing. California born, she now lives—and writes—in Texas, with her husband and daughters.

I was so excited for the continuation of this series. As I've stated before move over Christian and Ana there's a new power couple on the scene Damien/Nikki. Smart billionaire ex tennis star meets equally smart beautiful ex beauty queen.

If you Haven't read book one please stop reading this review now and get started!

In book one mrs. Kenner gave us insight into Nikki's demons. We got a glimpse into Damien's life but was left questioning who is this man really. I mean everyone has a past right? Well in this book we see  Mr. Stark past, present, and future. Don't get me wrong he is still a private man but mrs. Kenner did a great job of giving her readers insight into the why/how of how Damien stark came to be the man he is today.

Ok ok I can gush over Damien all day.... Moving on.... This book basically picks up right were book 1 ended, The infamous agreement between Nikki/Damien. Well the painting is complete and the agreement is nearing its end, what now you ask? Oh the fist pumps to mrs. Kenner and the awesome chemistry/steamy moments between these two. I mean seriously when a man can give you a look that makes you all tingling among other things, lol... umm I'm going to say KEEP HIM! As if there would be any other option in Damien Starks eyes. Remember people we are dealing with an alpha male, what stark wants stark gets but his ex beauty queen has a mouth that makes him remember she has a brain as well as beauty.  I love Nikki.

The chemistry between Damien/Nikki is off the charts hot but the relationship they were building outside the bedroom was great to. For these two trust was a serious issue considering  their  past demons. Their demons were serious and when they attempted to resurface, they had each other backs. I loved  it! Damien's support of Nikki as drama continued to spiral in her life was great to read. His acceptance of her and what she had become was heart wrenching at moments.  Nikki was a strong woman but even the strong need a support system sometimes. In ways she showed/taught Damien this same concept. As I've stated before we see their relationship grow but we get to see the real Damien stark. All I can say is what a man! As I read this story the saying "what doesnt kill us makes us stronger" popped into my head on a few occasions.

I loved the continuation of this story. The ending will make you need book 3 ASAP! The secrets revealed in this one will give you numerous WTH moments and many heartbreaking ones as well.  Great job mrs. Kenner! On to book three!

Cheers,
Dr. Books
