A. L. Burgos (Anthony Luis Burgos) lives in NYC in the gritty area of Harlem. He never ran the streets of Harlem rather he found the joys of writing. At the age of 10, he began to write and he discovered that it was an escape from the outside world. YA drama and mystery thrillers were his passion; he wrote his first story (not published) titled "Forever Friends" at 11. His dream was to become a famous author one day, so he would be able to move his mother out of Harlem. Anthony has self published his first YA drama "Sec4rets" which is getting rave reviews from readers claiming it’s an edge of your seat ride and amazing, while at the same time tackling real life teen issues. He is working on several new books hoping to be released in 2013.

This story starts out well. Introducing you to the main characters and giving you insight on each of their "stories." Kim, Tiffany, Mark and Kevin. All with their own little secrets and all are best friends. Then gets a bit confusing, causing you to lose focus and where you are.
The story seems to really be based at first around Mark. Needing to escape, but why? Then you get to know everyone else a little at a time. Drawn in to the "secrets" you keep reading.
Finding out Mark's "big" secret! Kevin with his and the one person that you don't expect to reach out, does. What's going on with his mom and her boyfriend? What's the secret there? The supporting characters add a nice roundness to the story. Henry, Craig, Melinda, Ricky and Gina, what are they all about and how do they fit in? As you go through the pages you find out.
Then the story takes a turn and you start losing who is who and what time are you in? Who's story are you reading about, as it jumps around alot. Are you reading about what happened 6 hours ago, a day ago, 3 hours? It keeps going on like that at the end and you just finally want to throw in the towel.
The ending is shocking yes, and one you never see coming, but enough is enough. It's drawn out wayto much. Even for typical High School teenagers. The drama is there, don't get me wrong and yes as teenagers we all go through it. Even as adults, we grow through things. We just handle it differently.
So really, the story is not based around Mark, it's based around everyone.
