Cassandra doesn't remember a time when she wasn't writing. In fact, the first time she was published was when she was seven years old and won a contest to be published in an American Girl Doll novel. Since then Cassandra has written more novels than she can count and put just as many in the circular bin. Her personal goal with her writing is to show the reader the character's stories through their dialogue and actions instead of just telling the reader what is happening. In 2012 she became a published Young Adult author, releasing In Between Seasons (The Fall, #1) and Walking in the Shadows. In 2013 she branched out by using her artistic illustrating talents to publish her first Children's novel, The Adventures of Skippy Von Flippy: Tales of Friendship (Skippy Tales, #1).Cassandra will also release her first New Adult novel, Love Exactly, in the Spring of 2013.
Typical every day love story, or is it...
I must admit this one had me crying in parts, as predictable as it is, well as any love story is, this one definitely has it's twists and turns.
Meet Emma, an everyday average female, with an ordinary job, not doing what she loves, what her passion is. She gave that up for a man, well because of a man and no not the reason you're thinking.. Eric was the cool kid in high school, so when he asked her out, she went for it. Little did she know he had a deep hidden secret, one he would share with her all too willingly.
Verbal and physical abuse is wrong on so many levels. The bruises from the physical abuse go away, the words that are spoken.. Well in all honesty they really never do, they are always there in the background somewhere just waiting to come out.
Emma one day getting coffee stumbles into Evan Levasque, rock n roll god. They hit it off instantly, spending as much time together before he has to whisk off to go on tour. They keep their relationship on the "QT" while getting to know eachother. They each confess how strange it is that each get the other, they "understand."
As their relationship progresses so does the stress of Evan's schedule.. Each time he leaves the harder it is on them. Then comes the call to Emma. Her "ordinary" job is sending her back to her nightmares.. She gets to go back to her high school where it all started. She has told Evan about Eric, what was said, done. Low and behold the coach for the basketball team is non other than... Yep... You've got it.
Somehow Emma's boss says, Eric ended up with a black eye, does she know how it happened? Did she see anything? Emma unbeknownst to her inspires Evan to write a song.... He surprises her one day with it, the next thing his band is up for a Grammy. Eric wins again or does he? Now it's the Rock n Roll awards, Emma by his side, she finally hears what she has wanted all her life. "How do you fee about Forever?"
Cheers,
Steph
