Forgiving Lies Synopsis:
A matter of secrets...
Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies...
Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...
As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

About Molly McAdams:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Before starting this book I was in a slump and just couldn't get into anything I started reading. I picked this up and stayed up until I finished! Which was 3am and I had to get up at 530 :-) So needless to say it was AMAZING!!!

I will say this is a bit of an intense read and deals with subjects that include rape, kidnapping, and a serial killer. IF you cannot handle reading about those then this may not be for you. I will say though that the manner things are done is not gruesome or sickening (to me anyways) so its not really like a dark read.

Oh... and there is lots of STEAM!!!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

We meet Rachel who is a junior in college. She and her best friend Candice left their hometown in California to go to the great state of Texas for school. After losing her parents in high school, Rachel lives with Candice's family since they have been close forever.

Candice's cousin. who Rachel was in love with growing up, is now working at the school and has a thing for Rachel. After months of asking her out and being turned down, Rachel decided to go on one date so that Candice will leave her alone. Well one date turns into more time hanging out and Rachel starts pushing away. After a crazy incident, Rachel confesses something to Candice who doesn't believe her. Candice annoyed the crap out of me a bit in this book, but she does redeem herself somewhat in the end. BUT there were many times when a virtual pimp slap was given :-)

For the summer the decide to stay in Texas instead of going home and rent an apartment off campus. This is were Rachel and Candice meet their new neighbors that are extremely delicious!

Kash and Mason have to leave Florida after a bust on an undercover case. They are sent to Texas and have to keep their identity a secret while they are working on looking for a serial killer. Kash is continuously warning Mason not to get involved with Candice, their new neighbor, but can't stay away from Rachel. Kash and Rachel are easily one of my all time favorite book couples. They fight so hard to not want each other but it soooo does not work. They are both witty and fun and just great people.

BUTTTTTTTTT

Rachel thinks Kash is a bartender, not a cop. Things that have happened in Rachel's past come out as creepy things keep happening, and this just brings them all closer together. Well then of course some relationships start to change and secrets come out; forcing Rachel to hurt the people she cares about in order to keep them safe. This is when the book gets emotional and goes kinda fast. I felt like I was holding my breathe for hours!!

Molly is an amazing writer and storyteller. I loved how nothing seemed rushed but also didn't go slow. They all became friends and captured a piece of my heart. You get an ending, BUT...

***If you cannot handle a cliffhanger then just do not read epilogue***

I however think that the ending is what makes the story. This cliffhanger will leave you gasping and holding you breathe. Book 2 comes out on March 4th so its not to long to wait.

Thank you Molly for gracing us with your talent. I recently discovered you live in AUSTIN which is only an hour from me! And since you know a thing or two about stalkers, my antics wont come as a shock :-)

LOVED IT!!!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Cheers
