By USA Today Bestselling Author J.L. Mac
Expected Release: January 13, 2014
Synopsis For the first time in her life, 25-year-old Josephine Geroux has a future worth looking forward to. She has her beloved bookstore, she has all the comforts that money can buy, she has found the love of her life, and most importantly, she has found hope where there was none for 16 long years. After the tragic deaths of her parents and her troubled life as an orphan, she met Damon Cole, a man who has everything to do with it all. He’s part of the reason for her wrecked life, but he’s also the reason that her heart has been restored. He’s her future and the exact reason that she’s so willing to fight the demons from his past that threaten the very future that she so desperately seeks. In the final book of the Wrecked series, Jo is confronted with a turbulent history that has her negotiating the twists and turns that end up being far more difficult to handle than she ever could have anticipated. Jo’s relationship with enigmatic Damon is delicate at best, especially after she inadvertently discovers details about his life that may have been better left buried. Since Damon’s dark past has remained hidden for so long, Jo’s investigation puts her dangerously close to jeopardizing her already fragile relationship with the man she loves. Jo has a promising future at her fingertips; she must decide if revealing the truth to Damon is a gamble she’s willing to take. With so much at stake, acceptance proves to be Jo’s greatest battle to date.

I rap on the door three times and wait for Noni to answer. I’ve only been over a couple times since she rented Captain’s house. It’s still difficult for me to see his life pushed aside almost like he didn’t exist, even though Noni has been nothing but courteous about his things still being in the house. It’s just another reminder that Noni has a heart of gold and that Captain is gone. I wait at the door with no response from her. What the hell, Noni? I fish my cell phone from my back pocket and check to see if I missed a text or phone call from her but nothing. She told me to come by to discuss some things with the house so here I am. Knowing her, she’s likely in the kitchen making a spread of cookies and fresh coffee for me like I’m some special guest or something. That’s Noni. Without giving it much thought, I turn the knob and open the unlocked front door. “Noni! I’m here!” I call out as I begin making my way towards the living room. I hear a muffled moan followed by nasal panting coming from the living room and it brings every painful memory of Captain’s death racing to the forefront of my mind. “Noni!” I shout as I round the corner into the living room that will probably always haunt my dreams, now more so than ever. The sight before me is straight from a horror flick and I freeze in place just a step inside the room. Noni struggles against the duct tape that holds her captive in one of Captain’s dining chairs. My mouth pops open as my eyes bulge and water in response. Noni jerks in place and cries out from behind the cloth gag stuffed into her mouth. Before my brain can register a response, I feel a brute force unleashed on my frame. A thick hand goes to my mouth and successfully silences my screams. Another set of hands muscle my arms into submission behind my back. The distinct sound of duct tape being ripped from the roll fills the air around me. Someone leans in close to my ear and, despite my futile struggles, I can feel his breath assault my skin with every syllable he speaks. “Don’t fight me,” he warns. My blood runs cold when I realize that he’s here. It’s him and it’s the first time since the accident that I feel completely vulnerable to the monster that wrecked my world.About the Author USA Today Best Selling Author,J.L.
