Saving wishes by GJ Walker- Smith Book Review

For Charli Blake, being seventeen is a tough gig.

She's been branded a troublemaker, her reputation is in tatters and she's stuck in Pipers Cove, a speck of a town on the coast of Tasmania.

Thankfully, it's temporary. Her lifelong dream of travelling the world is just months away from becoming reality. All she has to do is ride out the last few months of high school, which is easier said than done thanks to a trio of mean girls known as The Beautifuls.

When Adam Décarie arrives in town, all the way from New York, life takes an unexpected turn. His arrival sets off a chain of events that alters her life forever, convincing her of one thing. Fate brought him to her.

Saving Wishes is the story of a girl who doesn't quite fit the life she's living, and the boy who helps her realise why.

My day job used to be in the stressful world of property management, until I realised I’d rather write books and raise my babies.
I live in Western Australia, have an egotistical French bulldog, a love for really good coffee and a million stories in my head that I hope to get into print.
Thanks for taking the time to read about me, and I hope you enjoy my books.

This was the first time I've read any of mrs. Smith's work and all I can say is wow. This is the story of a small town girl named Charli oh and did I mention this one is based out of Australia. Australia is seriously on my list of places to vacation at some point in my life. Charli's life is being turned upside down by "THE BEAUTIFULS"...ok think of them as an in between of pretty little liars and mean girls. Charli is catching a bad rep because she's different. Being semi weird/different myself, I loved charli's character. She stayed true to herself despite what others thought.

For a seventeen year old girl, Charli's sense of reality through my eyes would put her in the category of being a hopeless romantic. Like every woman/girl she just wanted her fairytale/happy ending. Despite all the drama in her teenage life, everyone needs an outlet, hers was through photography.

The secondary characters in this book I loved. Alex charli's brother would make any woman swoon. The kindness/gentleness he showed his sister, awesome. He was they type of brother that was encouraging and despite all obstacles he would be there to catch your fall.  My second favorite would be mr. French heartthrob, Adam.  Adam could be classified as Mr. Perfect on paper, life goals/dreams all planned out until that one faithful day in walks the girl that rocks his world, Charli.
The relationship that plays out between these two is sweet, loving, funny and down right cute.

I could continue to talk about this book but for fear ill give something away I'm going to stop. I encourage you to read this one.  This book has it all. It will make you laugh, want to cry,  give you WTH moments and heart wrenching ones as well. Great job mrs. Smith. I can't wait to read more of your work.

Cheers,
