Dragonfly by Leigh T Moore Book Review

Goodreads Description:
Three bad things I learned this year:
-People you trust lie, even parents.
-That hot guy, the one who’s totally into you, he might not be the one.
-Things are not always how they appear.

Three good things I learned this year:
-Best friends are always there for you, even when they’re far away.
-That other hot guy, the one who remembers your birthday, he just might be the one.
-Oh, and things are not always how they appear.

Anna Sanders expected an anonymous (and uneventful) senior year until she crossed paths with rich-and-sexy Jack Kyser and his twin sister Lucy.

Pulling Anna into their extravagant lifestyle on the Gulf Coast, Lucy pushed Anna outside her comfort zone, and Jack showed her feelings she’d never experienced... Until he mysteriously withdrew.

Anna turned to her internship at the city paper and to her old attraction for Julian, a handsome local artist and rising star, for distraction. But both led to her discovery of a decades-old secret closely guarded by the twins’ distant, single father.

A secret that could permanently change all their lives.

UNDERTOW, Book #2 in the Dragonfly series, coming July 18!

Book Review:
This is the second book I've read by Mrs. Moore. When I was asked to review this one I was jumping at the bit because from the blurb alone small town drama, secrets and potential love triangle caught my eye. Yes I love my love triangles. Speaking of love  triangles Mrs. Moore not only gave us one concerning the youth of this story but also the skeletons in their parents closets made for a very interesting tale also. Do I have your attention now, lol?

As this story begins we are introduced to Anna. She is beautiful, humble, charming, etc. too bad she's never seen herself that way. Well that changes her senior year of high school. Already sad because her BFF has moved away her luck changes when two of the hottest guys on campus are trying to win her attention.

Julian the artist/rough around the edges hot boy and jack the rich handsome, sailing hot boy from the rich side of the tracks compete for her attention.  Both guys make Anna feel/see things about herself she never thought she would ever experience. In the end  we see jack wins her heart.   But as we know teenage hormones normally lead to crisis, broken hearts! Jack is under a lot of family pressure to step into the family business. He can graduate early and leave for college. Jack/Anna's relationship was a hard one to read. Jacks way of dealing/not dealing with a situation was to push her away. My heart broke for Anna so many times in this book. Needless to say I had a love/hate relationship with jack.  By the way I'm team Julian!!

Anna's decisions to protect her Heart were difficult. But how many times can you let a person have the potential to crush your heart before you've had enough? Anna's goals in life involve working for a newspaper one day. Taking an internship and throwing her self into work with the hopes of stepping away from the men in her life and focusing on herself backfires. Just when she thought she could move on she stumbles upon secrets involving the families of two men she care for deeply, Julian/jack. This secret is enough to rock their small town and the lives of the men she hold dear. Anna is faced with a choice hold  on to this secret or tell?

The beginning of this book started out a little slow for me but midway through when everything was coming front and center I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.  Great job Mrs. Moore I need book 2 to see how this story plays out. I have some serious questions brewing that need answers!

BookRating : 4 stars/B

** I was provided an ARC of this book for an honest review. **
