Conquer your love by JC Reed Book Review

Goodreads Description:
Meeting Jett was like bad luck. Dangerous. Unpredictable. And better avoided. In his game, the stakes are high. But are they worth the risk?

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, finds forgetting is hard, but forgiving is harder. When the man she trusted, betrayed her, the only way to forget is to move on. Brooke is determined to start a new life, until she meets him again: the green-eyed, sexy as sin, six foot two sex god. The man who played dirty. The man who played her.

Sexy, rich, and arrogant Jett Mayfield knows he has made mistakes. He could have any other woman, and yet it’s Brooke he wants. When second chances collide with secrets and Brooke is threatened by the past, Jett is determined to protect her. She accepts his help unwillingly because she needs him but she wants to play his game on her own terms. And she has no intention to forgive or let him back into her bed.

When the man she is supposed to hate is the one she should trust, will he conquer her…or lose her forever?

A woman who can’t forgive.
A man who has made mistakes.
Two lives that are about to cross again and more secrets laid bare.

TEASER:
Dark hair that brushed his collar, eyes as deep and green as sin, a white shirt that only managed to emphasize his broad shoulders and sculpted chest—the guy was a walking hazard to the female population. He certainly was to me. Even though he had crushed my heart and I knew about the kind of jerky trick he had tried to pull on me, I still couldn’t help the tiny butterflies doing somersaults in the pit of my stomach. Or maybe it wasn’t my stomach but something else. Something remembering his exploring fingers and the way he had filled me, making me come over and over again.
I rolled my eyes at my sudden onset of stupidity. Okay, we had amazing sexual chemistry and he definitely knew what he was doing, but whatever he had to say I wasn’t going to listen. Or bed him. Even though I sort of wanted the latter. A lot.
“Brooke.” His lips brushed the lobe of my ear as he leaned in to talk again, his deep tone with just a hint of a Southern accent caressing my every nerve ending, making me want to—
Hell, no!
I jumped to my feet to put some much needed distance between us, almost toppling over the bistro table. My eyes bore into him and the music died around us. The whole room began to spin and the people turned into a blur of distorted faces and colors. Closing my eyes, I gripped the edge of the table for support and forced myself to take deep breaths until my heartbeat slowed down to a bearable level. When I opened my eyes again, he was still there. Still towering over me. Still gorgeous.

Book Review:
When Mrs. Reed emailed me asking me to review her new book one thing happened: me screaming hell yes!! Since book one surrender your love Mr. Tall drank of water himself ( in my co residents ash's voice) has held a special place in my heart. So of course i was chomping at the bit to see this story continue. If I thought book one left me all hot and bothered WOW this book was off the scale HOT!

Please note if you haven't read book 1 surrender your love please stop reading this review now!

This story picks up right were book 1 ended, Brooke is heart broken by Jett's secrets and lies. Ya I was having "but why Jett?" Issues at the end of book one. Remember me saying that this story was consequences (Althea Roming) meets fifty shades (EL James) that still holds true. Let the saga continue!!

A heart broken Brooke has taken herself and her BFF Sylvie ( I love this girl) to Italy to see and make preparations to inherit the lucazzone estate. Oh ya and meet the man himself.  Well one thing we know about  Mr. Tall drank of water is he takes what he wants and doesn't go down without a fight. Geez I love this man.

Jett follows Brooke to Italy in the hopes to keep her safe and rekindle what was lost. Ya buddy you sure have your work cut out for you. You may be asking yourself keep her safe from what? Well the lucazzone estate has many dark secrets apparently the kind many powerful people want to keep hidden Some enough to even kill for.  This hits closer to home for Jett because his fathers name is among those listed. Yup you heard me.

In this book Mrs. Reed gives us a deeper/closer look into Jett's life and him as a man. Again Iove this man.

"Maybe you think I want what others want, but thats not the case.  I'm looking for things that matter. Things I can hold and treasure forever.  I think you're worth holding onto Brooke. And that's worth more in time to come than anything you think might be of importance"-Jett

"I don't want someone who's perfect because I'm not perfect.  I want someone who's real; someone who complements me rather than completes me."-Jett

As he fights to win Brooke's love back he tries a different approach this time, TRUTH amongst all that hot alpha male oozing from him. As their romance rekindles the obstacles they  faced made me cringe at times. BUT love conquers all and this powerhouse team of Jett/Brooke left me thinking, ok these two are going to be a force to be reckoned with.

I loved this book as much as book 1. Mrs. Reed gave the reader a little of everything from rekindled romance, sexy hot bedroom scenes, Haunted stalking mansion scenes, a crazy BFF, hot hacker BFF, a mysterious under ground  sex ring, and oh ya a grocery store full of pregnancy tests( nope not telling if its positive or negative, but does one or two blue lines mean the same thing in the Italian version, lmao).

I LOVE THIS SERIES SO FAR!

Great job Mrs. Reed!

Book Rating: 5 stars/ A
