"Gripping and evocative. A dark tale that strikes close to your heart, rekindling hope and faith"T. G. Ayer - Author of The Valkyrie Novels
Beautiful, wild-child Nicole Tepper is hit by a car and left for dead. But when she wakes the next morning, Nicole finds herself in bed without a scratch. Perhaps she was more intoxicated than usual, as her mother is giving her the silent treatment and her friends are ignoring her as well.
Things take a turn for the weird when Nicole soon discovers she is actually hovering between life and death. Her body is lying in the forest while her spirit is searching for anyone who can hear her. Unfortunately the only person who can is Dale Finnigan, the guy she publicly humiliated with a sharp-tongued insult that has left him branded.
Desperate, Nicole has no choice but to haunt Dale and convince the freaked-out senior to help her. Will he find her body before it's too late? Or will the guy who tried to kill her with his car, beat him there and finish her off before anyone finds out?

Review:
To say this was one of my favorite all time reads would be the understatement of the year! I LOVED IT! I cannot think of any other story that has ever tugged at my heart or emotionally captured me as much as this one. There is not one negative thing I can say or think about this book. One word, PERFECTION!
Melissa Pearl is on of the most gifted writers I have ever come across! I read Before prior to reading Betwixt and I would recommend others to do the same. You don't really have to, but it makes Betwixt that much better to know Dale's back story.
This is a story for both young and old to relate to and find as captivating as I did. If I could gift every reader one I would, that is how passionate it made me.
So we start of by meeting Nicole who is walking home after being left alone at night by her boyfriend. On her way she gets hit by a car and falls down a hill, then mysteriously wakes up in her bed already dressed and running late for school.
Nicole soon realizes she is on the brink of death and has no idea where her body is. Dale is the only one who can hear her and is trying to help her figure out where her body is before it is too late, but she soon learns that the one that hit her is also looking; but he is not wanting to save her....
This story is so much more than that. It is about finding forgiveness in yourself, and being happy within. It is so beautifully written and nothing seems rushed. I felt like I was watching her eyes open from within and it was beautiful. I found myself crying at times and laughing at times. It truly was beautiful. Everyone of us has something that we do not like about ourselves, or regret something we did just like Nicole did. This story is for us all!
Thank you Melissa!

Dale Finnigan is a teenage rebel; he lives for parties, girls and joy riding in stolen cars. In spite of his uptight parents' constant warnings and lectures, he continues to run wild. His crazy lifestyle is the only way he can live and feel free…until his reckless behavior takes him down a path where there is no going back.
In this prequel to BETWIXT, find out who Dale Finnigan was before he became known as“scar-face”—the unassuming hero everyone underestimates.
