EXCERPT:

He slowly lifted the lid. I could almost feel his fingertips digging into me, his lips racing toward my wetness, the bite of his teeth as he—

"Oh my," I whispered, taking in the neatly folded black strips inside. There were four of them, and one smaller bundle. They looked so soft, so delicate in his powerful hands. He unfurled the smallest bundle in a single movement. For a brief moment, heat rushed my cheeks and I thought it was one of the g-strings he loved on me, even though I was still a little self conscious about my curves. It wasn't a g-string, but the warmth sizzled a red path across my face nonetheless.

It was a blindfold.

Synopsis

Gertie knows she doesn’t have a picture perfect life, but feels blessed with what she does have. So what if love left her heart shattered and broken? She has a great job at Simple Luxury, an apartment in Houston with her sister, Mabel, and an outspoken, no-filter, church-going Gram back in Eufaula, Oklahoma where she was raised after her parents died. Things are going well for Gertie until the man who broke her heart shows up in Houston. Tyler knew he had made the biggest mistake of his life the night he lost Gertie, but now he is back to reclaim the woman who owns his heart. It won’t be easy though, but he is going to have to make Gertie accept the life he has now and want to be part of it. As the owner of a successful construction company, he is devoted to making Eufaula the place Gertie will want to return and to forgive him for his mistakes. With Gram being so outspoken in her column Drama Mama in the Eufaula’s Daily Indian Journal, she doesn’t hold back with her opinions about books and the nonsense drama among authors in the book world. Gram isn’t afraid to give her opinion to Mabel and Gertie when it comes to life, either. Will events out of their control change their future plans for everyone involved? By the way, the dog on the cover is named Cujo. What is a small town full of secrets and gossip without a dog named Cujo?

Excerpt

Prologue “Thank God, I was let out of this dirty cage today. I seriously needed a break from listening to those humans cackling about this and that. I sure will miss my tail wagging friends. This human is questionable. His bright yellow pants and pink shirt are giving me a headache. Dear God, please don’t let him dress me up. Wait… Oh, no, I think I’m going to be carsick!” ~ Cujo 2008 “Gram, that seems a little risqué to me,” Mabel says handing me the rough draft of Grams weekly column. “I wonder what the people at your church think.” Mabel raises an eyebrow at Gram. “Darling, you have to live a little. Don’t limit yourself to society’s rules. Lord knows those rules are violated every day. I’m only doing it underhandedly. And, for the love of God, don’t bring him into this. He and I have worked out an arrangement.” Gram bats her lashes. How can an old woman be conniving yet look innocent at the same time? Damn she’s good. I begin to read the rough draft of this week’s column post: Sunday, July 19, 2008 Drama Queens: Call Off Your Dogs Citizens of Eufaula, Drama Mama here, and I’m going to tell you two chewable, delicious, bone-worthy reads releasing this week. Trenda Jacobson’s Wronged is projected to jump to the top of the charts quickly. Trenda brings in Alan Bird—a quiet man who had very few friends growing up. Not because others didn’t like him. No, he was a loner. This behavior kept him away from the real world. With little interaction with the outside world as an adult and an experimental scientist, he found his joy in pain. Not his pain, but others. The FBI has been hunting Alan for years—almost a decade—before they discover his underground lab. When the violent acts are uncovered, will the FBI agents be able to find Alan, and most importantly, will they be able to escape being next in line? This next one is going to be a must-read. Deliberate Intentions by Renee Gilbert is best described as a modern day Romeo and Juliet—only worse. The two main characters, Mike and Lauren, are high school sweethearts. Mike is two years older, goes to a local community college so that he can stay close to his girlfriend. He makes sacrifice after sacrifice to stay with her. Problem is, she doesn’t. Lauren is brilliantly manipulating Mike as her puppet. This story looks at the problems with young-dumb love and how two teens practically escape a bright future because they are in too much of a rush to get married. Lauren does something very sneaky to seal the deal—something that has great consequences for both of them. Will they get the love and support from their families when everything becomes clear? This one is sure to touch readers of many generations. Quickly, I would like to take a moment to thank my readers for their support and enjoyment of this unconventional column. This marks my fifty-second column as Drama Mama. For one year, I’ve created quite a stir in the reader, author, and in the publishing world—and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. I appreciate all the comments and can’t wait to see what we discover over the next fifty-two posts. Okay, now that we’ve gotten all that out of the way. Let’s get onto the good stuff. People who you interact with on a regular basis can be compared to dogs. You know you have thought about it before. It can be a co-worker, friend, or possibly, a family member. Either way, canine behavior isn’t exclusive to its kind. Take for instance Chihuahuas. They are small and look so innocent, but the moment you piss them off, they are attacking the leg of your pants or hiking their leg on your furniture to show you who the real boss is. These are the true bullies of the world. Why? Because the moment you stop cuddling with your pocket pet, they turn on you. Let’s have a look at the monstrous Pit bull. Their big, muscular frame has many scared to death of them. They were born with strong jaws that match their strong bodies. But guess what? They aren’t going to turn on you like those little Mexican things. No, they will lick you to death and play for hours. So, when I’m looking for someone to be in my corner, I’d rather have the one that looks vicious on the outside, but has a heart of gold as opposed to the one that looks cute and cuddly, but can turn into a biting piranha at any moment. So there you have it. Drama Mama’s paw print. Until next week, keep your eyes open for those ankle biters and thanks for reading Drama Queens: Call Off Your Dogs. “Gram, I’m going to college so that I can, hopefully, become a great writer and editor, but I can tell you now, I won’t be writing stuff like this. You must’ve been born with a set of balls,” I manage to say in all seriousness before looking at Mabel and we fall into a fit of giggles. “Gertie, you will find people in this industry who are precisely like the dogs I described. It’s best you toughen up. You will encounter some who are nice to your face, become a best friend, but will talk about you behind your back and make you sound crazy. All the while, they are the crazy ones to start with. I’m trying to teach you how to cope with these Chihuahuas of the world. Your best bet is to find a Pit bull.” My eyebrows furrow in confusion. Are people really like that? “Sweetheart, you’re young and dumb.” My eyes grow at her harshness. “Oh, please, you know it as well. You need to go out and experience the world. Just watch out for needless drama and the back-stabbing bitches of the industry. I mean, come on, really? No one does drama like me.” Gram smiles before walking out of the room. “We’re related to that?” Mabel whispers, watching Grams retreating form. Slowly raising my shoulders in a shrug, we glance at one another suspiciously before returning our eyes to the doorway Gram had just walked through. “That woman is crazy,” I claim. “No doubt,” Mabel agrees.

About The Author

L.U. Ann

She lives in Colorado with her husband and two children. Moving from the lush landscapes of Maryland's Eastern Shore to the high desert plains of Colorado was a drastic change. She and her family moved to their own “Little House on the Prairie" at an elevation of over 6,000 feet above sea level, and a semi-arid climate that makes it hard to grow anything. While barely anything can grow where she resides now, the wildlife makes up for it. Mountain Lions, and coyotes, and rattlesnakes, oh my! She tries to spend a little time each day writing, but domestic chores around the house usually take precedence. She would much rather hide them from her husband. She tends to her loving four-legged children who at times become much too demanding when she locks herself in the office. This often results in MORE domestic work, and she finds herself cleaning up after their deviant behavior. She has always been an artist painting as a hobby to back drops in theatrical set designs. Graphic design is her guilty pleasure. A Destructive Novel is a series of three books based on her life. They deal with heavy life issues and will have the reader begging for a happily ever after.

Excerpt

With pain, comes blame. We blame the ones we love, we blame the one we lost, but most of all, we blame ourselves. It buries itself deep. So deep that on some days it feels like it’s in the marrow of your bones.

It destroys everything. The love you thought you had? Blame will chew it up and spit it out faster than you can blink.

Blame is like cancer; it eats away at all the good. It consumes you and if you are not careful, it will kill you.

Assumptions by Melanie Codina book blitz & giveaway

SYNOPSIS:

What happens when a girl set on playing by the rules …

Leeann Bradley is a college graduate who has achieved many of her personal goals, all because she follows the rules she’s set for herself. It’s simple. You work hard, enjoy life, surround yourself with friends and family, avoid jumping to conclusions … and oh yeah, don’t date jocks. These rules have worked well and have taken her down the path she wants in life. So what’s a girl to do when temptation, in the form of a sexy college soccer player, is placed right in the middle of that path? Deciding when to break the rules has never been easier for Leeann. But when assumptions are made, and more than just the rules are broken … will she be able to find her way down that path again? And what happens when it’s no longer the path she’s meant to take?

Finds a guy worth breaking them for …

Until now, Jonathan Baxter had one primary focus in his life, soccer. All decisions made, have been based on how it could affect his ability to play soccer. His grades, his choice of college, any type of extracurricular activities, were all carefully assessed. All of it has made playing college soccer possible. But when an injury sidelines him for the foreseeable future, and jeopardizes his dreams, he has to work even harder than before. Rehabilitating his injury becomes his primary objective. Until he meets Leeann, a physical therapy assistant whose touch has the ability to make him lose focus. She has him thinking there could be more in his life—in his future—than just soccer. So what’s Jonathan to do when Leeann assumes he’s just like every other jock out there? He has to prove her assumptions wrong.

EXCERPT:

“So, Leeann. I was thinking of asking you out on a date, but figured I should make sure there wasn’t a Mr. Leeann in the picture,” I stated matter-of-factly, taking another bite of my salad. Rather than respond right away, she gave me an amused look. I really liked that I amused her. It did great things for my ego.

“A Mr. Leeann?” she inquired.

I nodded, liking my choice of words. “Yeah. You know, a member of the opposite sex who you’ve attached yourself to. Maybe even have Cobb salads with. Although I’m sure there would be other things you do with a Mr. Leeann, but we don’t need to bring those up. I prefer to just think of you eating Cobb salads with him.”

She tried to conceal a snort by covering her mouth with a napkin, but I caught it. It was cute as hell. That unruly dick of mine began to make himself known again. I was actually surprised it had taken that long for him to realize she was within a five-foot radius. Maybe the temporary jolt of pain I got almost falling allowed for the delayed response. Fortunately, I’d taken Leeann’s advice from the other day and worn shorts that were a little more concealing.

When she removed the napkin, she smiled broadly. “Well, there really isn’t anyone else I eat Cobb salads with. Except you, of course. But—”

I interrupted her, “Perfect! That makes me your Mr. Leeann. I can totally be that for you. Except I could definitely see us doing more than eating Cobb salads together.”

Now she was giggling, and I couldn’t help but watch her as that simple sound exploded in my ears. It swirled around me, making me want more. When she slowed down the giggling, she asked, “So you can see me doing more with you, huh?”

My hands were clasped together, and I rested my elbows on the table, leaning forward a little. I lowered my voice and said, “Oh yeah.” The husky tone caught her attention, and she leaned forward in response. So I continued, “I could definitely see us doing more than eating Cobb salads. We could always try the Caesar, or even a Greek salad together. How do you feel about pizza?”

Leeann burst out laughing, and I couldn’t control every part of my body that responded without delay. There I was, joking with this sexy woman, dick at full attention, and all I could do was stare … and plan.

I needed to make a plan that involved making her laugh like that for me … every damn day.

AUTHOR BIO:

Melanie is an amazing mother of four, an awesome and tolerant wife to one, and nurse to many. If you don't believe her, just ask anyone in her family, they know what to say. She is also a devoted chauffeur, the keeper of missing socks, a genius according to a seven year old, the coolest soccer uniform coordinator according to a thirteen year old, and the best damn mac-n-cheese-with-cut-up-hot-dog maker in the whole world. Well that last title isn't really official, but it's still pretty cool to be called it.

When not being ordered around by any of the kids, you can find her with her nose in a book or on the sideline of a soccer game cheering on one team or another. But that's mostly because she has a thing for the coach. When not doing all of the above, you can find her obsessed with a group of fictional characters all vying for a spot on the page of whatever she's working on. It's a fun and crazy life to lead, but she wouldn't have it any other way.

Blurb

Was the wedding of their dreams about to become a living nightmare? For those who fell in love with Julia and Nathan in Serendipity, see how their story continues to unfold in this sweet, funny and sexy novella. After overcoming all of the obstacles in pursuit of their happily ever after, Julia and Nathan are determined to plan their dream wedding in just six months time. But the path isn't as smooth as they had hoped, with bumps in the road that include Julia’s bossy twin sister, a moody bridesmaid, and Julia’s own obsession with perfection. In the end, will love truly be all she and Nathan need, or will they need a little help from their friends along the way?   aynilfour

Excerpt

He kissed her softly, tasting the blended flavors of their male and female essences on his tongue. It made for a heady, almost aphrodisiacal combination. Nathan smiled ruefully to see the mess he’d made of her hair, and how her dress was still shoved up almost to her waist. He didn’t have to look at himself in the mirror to know he was even more disheveled, with his pants still tangled around his ankles, his shirt clinging damply to his heaving chest, and his own hair likely sticking up in half a dozen places. It was almost always like this with the two of them, however, he thought with a wicked grin. The sex was always hot, usually more than a little dirty, and starting to edge a bit towards the kinky side as well. Most of the time, Julia really, really liked it when he bossed her around in the bedroom, and especially the occasional encounters when he might bind her hands together with one of his ties, or blindfold her with a silk scarf. He hadn’t been kidding earlier when he’d told her that the two of them had already checked off a whole bunch of his sexual fantasies. And while she was more often than not willing to cede him control of their sexual encounters, there were certainly numerous occasions when she took charge, and it was always a wild ride when she did. He loved both sides of her equally – the sexy submissive and the delectable dominatrix. She was the perfect woman, both in and out of bed, and he thanked his lucky stars several times a day that she was his. And in less than two months, she would well and truly be his – his bride, his wife, his partner for the rest of their lives together. Julia gave a little squeal of surprise when Nathan gave her a fierce, almost possessive hug, and then buried his face against the side of her neck. “I love you, Julia,” he told her, the passion evident in his voice. “So damned much. Sometimes I don’t think mere words can begin to tell you how much.” “I know,” she replied softly, her hand stroking the side of his face. “You show me how much every day, Nathan. I feel loved every minute that I’m with you. And I love you, too, baby. Though I’d love you a lot more if we could get up off this wood floor and into our bed. My ass is starting to get sore.”   Inevitable series Serendipity (Inevitable, #1) Amazon | B&N Was meeting again an unfortunate twist of fate? Or was it just serendipity? Julia McKinnon was convinced she’d found the one – the man of her dreams, the most seductive, experienced lover she’d ever known – and the night they’d spent together in New York was the stuff erotic fantasies were spun from. But with the dawn of a new day came only heartache and betrayal, and her dreams were snuffed out like so much fairy dust. Nathan Atwood felt like the lowest sort of life form after seducing the incredibly beautiful girl he met in New York, only to break her tender heart with the confession that he was already involved with someone else. Leaving Julia was the hardest thing he’d ever done, and the memory of their passionate night together haunted his dreams for months afterwards. Now fate has brought them together again, and they are forced to work alongside each other. Will Julia be able to put aside the feelings she still has for her handsome boss and forge a new life for herself in San Francisco? And how long will Nathan be able to resist the gorgeous woman he’s never really stopped thinking about or wanting?   Splendor (Inevitable, #2) Amazon | B&N British hotelier Ian Gregson had it all – wealth, good looks, power, and a share in his family’s worldwide, multi-billion dollar luxury hotel chain. His very name was synonymous with sophistication and elegance, and any woman he wanted could be his with just a look. But the only woman he truly desired was strictly forbidden to him for too many reasons to count. Tessa Lockwood was young, beautiful, and lonely, despite the fact that she was a married woman. Her life had not been an easy one, and the extravagant world she caught glimpses of as an employee of the Gregson Hotel Group was far beyond anything she could ever dream of. She could no more imagine herself ensconced in that sort of luxurious lifestyle than she could attracting the attention of her handsome, debonair boss. Ian and Tessa secretly long for each other from afar, never daring to reveal their forbidden attraction to the other, until circumstances bring them together in a very unexpected way. And from that point on, nothing will stand in Ian’s way to finally make her his. AUTHOR’S NOTE – despite what you might be thinking at this point, there is NO cheating in this story – just an incredibly romantic hero who will make you swoon with the way in which he sweeps the heroine off her feet!

Tamed by K.A. Robinson Blog Tour and Giveaway!

Tamed by K.A. Robinson Blog Tour Stop and Giveaway!

Tamed, Torn Series #5, is now live! This book focuses on Adam and Amber. Adam is the guitarist with a wild streak in the Torn Series band, Breaking The Hunger. Amber is the best friend of the main character of Torn, Chloe. Both of these characters have a wild streak, something you're aware of if you've read the other Torn Series books.

Tamed can be read as a standalone.

I hope you like your rockers a whole lot dirty, because with Adam, that's what you'll get.

Description:
Mistakes—my life has been full of them. Time and time again, I’ve tried to change, tried to make the right choices, but it doesn’t matter. I always screw up.

I hoped that Adam would be different, that he wouldn’t be a mistake. Our relationship was supposed to be about sex and nothing more.

Fun, easy, simple—that was what we wanted.

But things are never simple, not for me.

Adam changed me. He made me the person I am today. I hate who I am and what I’ve become. I'm not proud of the things I've done.

I thought my greatest mistake would be falling in love with him.

I was wrong.

My greatest mistake is much, much worse.

I’ve lost control.

I have a secret I can’t hide.

It’s going to destroy everything.

My name is Amber, and this is my story.

ERIKA's REVEIW!!

I will start by saying I freakin LOVE K.A. Robinson!! This was my first time reading her work and I honestly couldn't think of one thing I'd change! After finishing this I bought the rest of the Torn series AND Shattered Ties series! I plan on getting the rest as soon as my book buying restriction is lifted :-) I don't think words can describe how much this book made me feel!

Tamed can be read as a standalone, however, I suggest starting from the begining of the series with Torn. I did NOT read the first ones, as I said this was my first of her books, but when I bought the others I realized it tells the story of the other characters in this book. BUT you will not miss a beat if you read Tamed first. One of the things I find awesome is that each characters story follows the same timeline but it's a whole other view on what's happening and someone else's life. It was so awesome how she tied them together but made them so different! That is how you know this really was her calling, simply breathtaking.

Tamed will take you on one hell of a ride! Amber and Alex's story has so many twists and turns it will give you whiplash. Just when you think you have it figured out, she throws you another curve ball. I loved that it kept me on my toes and my anxiety high going page by page. This is a book you won't be able to put down! I read it all in one sitting and finished well before bed but I couldn't start anything else with the hangover from this one! So that's when I started my stalking on K.A.!

Amber has her heart shattered just when she thought everything was perfect. College starts and she vows to never let another man have her heart. She has no problem until she meets Alex. What I loved most was that their relationship seemed genuine and believable. Obviously there is that instant attraction and she wants him like she never wanted anyone, but does not want to open her heart. Once she FINALLY gets on his radar things are pretty up and down while they figure out what they really are, and decide friends with benefits works for them both.

There is a lot that goes on and some big drama with supporting chapters also, which make up the begining of this series. Alex and Amber are perfect together and I wanted to jump in and shake them. Even being apart for LONG periods doesn't break the bond they have, at least until Amber makes a mistake! I won't say anymore about the plot because I don't want to give it away. I wasn't sure how it would end because there is a lot that happens and some pretty big cuts in their hearts, but it was perfect.

The writing was really good, you got details but not so over done that I was skimming over parts. You get to see these characters and develope how you feel about them and determine why they do things they do instead of being told. This is a must read and I am SOOOOOO excited to share this one with you guys!

Thanks for a hearfelf and amazing story K.A., and I can't wait for more!!
