1.Where were you born and where do you call home?

I grew up on a farm in Iowa and now I spend my time in Omaha, NE. I will admit that I hated living on a farm but now that I live in the city, I kind of miss the farm. I could totally see myself as one of those writers who buys a secluded cabin in the Colorado mountains and only comes out once a week for food…okay, maybe not really but doesn’t it sound calming?

2.Tell us about something that has just/recently happened in your life that you would like to share?

LOL. I work as a Director of Accounting and Human Resources during the day and the last few weeks, I’ve spent all my waking hours crunching numbers. I don’t think many people expect a romance writer to work as an accountant; they really are in two separate universes.

3.you had to sum up plastic hearts in 30 or less words, what would you say?

It’s a story about finding yourself, learning about true love and letting go of stereotypes and following your heart. Sometimes we find what we need when we’re not looking…

4. If you gave Alex and Dane an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?

Well, I think Alex would say that she is sorry for all the pain and upset she caused you in Plastic Hearts and Dane would say that he is grateful for all the love he’s been getting from the ladies but his heart belongs to Alex.

5. If your book was made into a TV series or Movie, what actors would you like to see playing your characters? Please send me pics lol!!!

I see Alex as Britt Robertson...

I see Dane ad Jed Hill…

6. List 3 books you just recently read and would recommend to readers?

I didn’t read this one recently but I have to give a shout out to my favorite book of all time, The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher. I can’t even put into words how much I LOVE that book. I mean I LOVE it.

Two books I read recently that I would recommend are Relentless by Cassia Leo and One Week Girlfriend by Monica Murphy. They were both well told, new adult novels that gave me the angsty feeling I love.

7. What is Your Favorite Wine?

I’m actually a beer girl. Nothing beats a cold bottle of Leinenkugel. I also love vodka with grapefruit juice. I like wine sometimes but I will pick a beer over it every time.

8. Is there an Author that you would really like to meet in person?

Probably Tarryn Fisher..that dream is coming true next weekend in Boston. Her stories twist and turn and leave me feeling completely torn up inside. I LOVE it; I wish I could be half the writer she is.

9.What authors have inspired your work?

Hmmm, this is hard. I love the great mix of humor and angst in Colleen Hoover’s writing and her books are pure beauty; if I can be half the writer she is, I will be happy. I also love the symbolism in Katja Millay’s writing. I love symbolism and books with underlying meanings and Katja does that perfectly. And I wish I could twist readers’ minds half as well as Tarryn Fisher.

10. EBook, Paperback or Hardcover?

Ebook is my friend. Do you remember the days when you had to get in the car and go to Barnes and Nobles every time you needed a new read? The Kindle was a lifesaver; if I’m bored at 11:00pm, I can just download a new book. If I love a book, though, I want it in paperback also.

11. Are you currently working on any upcoming projects?

I’m working on Glass Hearts for early summer which is the continuation of Dane and Alex’s story and I’m contemplating writing a couple books on secondary characters from Plastic Hearts. I’m also working on a top secret New Adult novel for later this summer. I won’t give many details at this point but I will say if you thought Plastic Hearts twisted your heart, just wait for this one…it hurts to even write it.

Book Review

Let me start by saying this is my first book by Teresa Mummert and just WOW!!! I loved this book. This book was beautifully written. Yes I know the title can throw you for a loop, but this book contains NO ACT OF SUICIDE. This story is a perfect example of how something as simple as NOTE can be taking out of context when an imagination runs wild.

This LOVE Story starts from this NOTE:

To whom it may Concern:

If you are reading this I am already gone. I couldn’t live like this anymore. The pain that I keep locked inside is slowly eating away at me. I’m tired. I’m not strong enough to keep all of these these feelings bottled up inside me any longer. I’m Sorry.

I’m just going to say if I found this I would absolutely jump to the conclusions majority of the characters in this book did. Ok I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start from the beginning. This is Jenn and Shane’s story. I loved how the book was told from both of their POV. Jenn and Shane both are two broken people. They share a common ground of BETRYAL. My heart broke for both of them in this book. Jenn has to deal with the fact her ex is marrying her sister, and her family is turning a blind eye to her emotions/feelings. Shane is a military man and is away at war. He thinks he has a fiancé to come home to, but eventually finds out she has left him for another man.

With both of their emotions running in overdrive, Jenn writes a note (that causes a ripple effect in many ways) and Shane flees for Maine to try to get some clarity in his life. While visiting his cousin Jake (Jenn’s boss) at work, Shane meets Jenn. Due to her recent emotional status, it slipped her mind to mail Jakes letter to Shane. So she does the next best thing, hands it to him in person. As this story plays out, Shane discovers a note stuck to his original letter from Jake. The key here is there’s no signature on the NOTE……Yup and let the ripple effect begin.

As this book progresses we see Shane and his family each point the finger thinking the other had written the NOTE. However, it finally dawns on Shane he has heard these similar words spoken before, JENN. Let the Shane/Jenn story continue/begin! Shane makes it his mission to SAVE Jenn, and show her that life is worth living. What he doesn’t expect is to fall in LOVE with her in the process. Through all the good and rocky times shane/jenn shared in this story, they both were scared to completely let the other in. The real test came when Shane was deployed again to war. Would there new budding relationship be able to survive?

The strength Jenn/Shane showed at the end of this book was amazing. They started as two broken/betrayed people and ended up finding strength they never knew they had. The secondary characters in this book I loved. My favorite was Jake and his wife. They had their own issues/story and I loved it as well.

Once again I LOVED this book. The writing was beautiful. I’ll end my Review with some of my favorite quotes from the book…..

“I have always considered myself to be a strong, even when the odds were stacked against me, but I felt like I was only hanging on by a thread. I’d forgotten how two breathe without inhaling the minty smell of his soap. I forgot how to feel without looking into his blue eye. Book Review

It is no secret I'm a huge fan of Kristen Ashley! Yes I will admit I was Internet stalking this one lol. The alpha males in Mrs. Ashley books always leave me with as smile on my face. This one was no exception. Raiden Ulysses miller.... My goodness FINE, SEXY, BADBOY marine, I love a man in uniform hehe!

This is Hanna and raids story. Hanna is the quiet, sweet spirited girl next door. Many would describe her as pretty but HOMELY looking. She is a woman who takes care of her elderly grandmother, has a business making Luxury Afghans, and is a book worm. Also her family has Creole Louisiana roots! I fell in love with Hanna's character. Well she has been in love with Raiden Ulysses Miller since she was a little girl. Unfournately, he never noticed her, until she hit his radar for a case he was working on. Let’s just say when he finally saw her she wasn’t the HOMELY woman many described. Its amazing was a new haircut, wardrobe, and new sports car can do, LOL.

Let’s talk a little bit about Raid… Well to sum him up SEXY, hot bad boy is pretty much it. Now out the marines, he is contracted to HANDLE problems for some pretty powerful people. His employer at the time is none other than KINGHT himself (yes he makes an appearance in this book, as well as Creed to; SIGH). His assignment has lead him to Hanna’s place of business for suspicion of drug smuggling. Well let’s just say not a great idea to finally make a play for a woman who has loved you forever, and then let her find out it’s all a job…..Ya she wasn’t too happy.

As this story plays out, the chemistry between Raid and Hanna is HOT! However, sometimes is attraction/chemistry enough? Raid is a stubborn man with some serious demons and a temper. Though his feelings for Hanna were strong he struggled to let her completely in. We always here communication is key in relationships, lol. The relationship that Raid/Hanna try to build is one with some happy moments and plenty of DARK ones as well. I loved how in the beginning of the book Hanna seemed timid, but toward the end she got some backbone. Yup she fought for the man she loved. After all these years, she finally had him and wasn’t letting go (sigh).

The secondary characters in this book, I loved. My favorite was Hanna’s Grandmother. My favorite quote of this book came from GRAM:

I loved this book. I loved this series. My only thing is I felt the first two books had more action/ drama. Good job Mrs. Ashley on a great series.

Book Review:

I going to start this review by saying I don’t think I’ve ever highlighted so much in a book in my life…..Seriously…This book was beautifully written and I truly loved it. This is Alex and Dane’s story. As I read the Blurb for this on Good reads I was thinking ok rich/country club princess falls for boy from the wrong side of the tracks, heard it before. Ya well not this way, hence all the highlights I have in this book, lol.

Alex is a girl who has had her life mapped out for her since she was young. I mean from what clothes to wear, who to date, what to say, etc….you get my point. The best way I can describe Alex, she is an EMPTY SHELL. She is so use to pleasing/making everyone else happy she doesn’t know how to be happy herself. Well College is her escape from everything she has known, and is the chance for her to find herself. Little does she know her escape will lead her into the arms of a man who doesn’t fit into her “PLASTIC WORLD”.

“I on the other hand, grew up in the plastic heart society. In the plastic heart society, love and respect are secondary to money and power.”—Alex

Dane is the bad boy artist from the wrong side of the tracks. From the moment he walked into his art class and saw Alex the chemistry was there. I loved Dane’s character. This is a young man when life gave him a crap hand, he pushed through. Yes serious mistakes and stupid decision were made throughout his life. However, that shaped him into the man he is, one who doesn’t live his life with REGRET (sigh I love this man, smh)…

“But I learned to let go of the things I can’t change. Mistakes make us who we are.”—Dane

The chemistry in this book between Alex and Dane is great. As you read this book, you see the inner demons both of them have effect their relationship in a serious way. There were moments in this book where I wanted to scream at both of them and say WAKE UP, GET IT TOGETHER!! (Yes I was a seriously emotional during this read).

The supporting charters in this book were great. Alex’s best friend /roomie and her sister I absolutely loved. Alex’s parents there are no words for these people. UGLY comes in all shapes, forms, sizes and spirits….These two meet the definition of ugliness from all angles (some serious WTH and SMH moments with these people).

I loved this book. This was a book of Taking Chances no matter how scary the outcome. Alex /Dane’s love story was a ROCKY one, but it is also the perfect example of a quote I LOVE….

As this book ended I was left wanting more. This book was a beautiful beginning to Alex /Dane’s love story. Thank goodness there will be a book #2. Great Job Mrs. De Jong on your debut novel!!!

Dr.Books Book Review

To say I was eagerly awaiting this book is an understatement. Not going to lie, I was Amazon STALKING, lol. After reading the first book, my emotions were FULL of dislike for RUSH, NAN, majority of there rich country club friends and especially Blaire’s father. Lets just say at the end of book # 1 when Blaire pulled a gun on NAN, I was screaming you GO GIRL (yup one of my favorite parts from book #1; I’m a country girl what can I say lol).

Well this book picks up about two weeks after the Rush/Blaire Break up. Let’s just say if things weren’t already complicated enough for Blaire they got WORSE! She now has to worry about the other life she is Carrying inside her (yup she’s having Rush’s baby ya’ll!). Ok that’s the only spoiler you’re getting!! This book was awesome because it was told from Rush and Blaire’s POV. The reader didn’t have to guess what was going through the other’s head.

As this book plays out we watch Blaire try to forget/hide her feelings for Rush in the hopes of protecting her baby. We also see RUSH FINALLY fighting tooth and nail for BLAIRE (don’t get me wrong, yes he still had stupid WTH moments.). The emotional tug of war these two played in this book never left the reader with a dull moment.

The supporting characters in this book were great; I still had a love/hate feeling towards most of them. Nan was still a mega spoiled BRAT/WITCH in this book, but by the end my heart broke for her (yes I never thought it would be possible either, SMH). I DESPISED Rush’s MOM and Blaire’s Father (nope not giving it away).

Bottom line is I LOVED this book. If you thought book #1 was full of LIES/Deceit, this book will ROCK YOUR WORLD. There were plenty of WTH moments in this one for me. Though I loved this book, I was left wanting more in the end (sigh). No there is not a cliffhanger, JUST read this book! I can honestly say if you enjoyed book #1 you want be disappointed with this one. Good Job Mrs. Glines! I could really use a Book # 3, HINT HINT!

Erin’s Mini Book Review

This book gets 5/5 stars from me!

As Blaire moves Back home and tries to get back to living her life after the secret rush withheld from her in book # 1 that destroyed her whole world….. She gets thrown another curveball that throws everything in a whirlwind and back into Rush's life. I fell in love with how the book took me thru the emotional, crazy and epic love story of where Blaire feels she can't trust or be around rush. Also to where rush feels he can't be without Blaire and will do anything to get her back!
