His Muse By Kemmie Michaels Cover Reveal

Saturday, November 23, 2013

Synopsis:
On vacation in the tropical paradise of St. Lucia...

Martin and Abby never intended to meet anyone while they were away. Circumstance, however, pushes them together in spite of their expectations. With an entire vacation week with nothing to do but spend time together, Martin and Abby forge a connection unlike anything either had felt before. With Abby’s conservative nature and Martin’s refusal to be the player he had once been, the couple keeps themselves physically apart...until they can’t.

They collide into a friction that sparks a blazing need to stay together. Keeping the heat alive from opposite ends of the country, though, may prove too difficult. Distance and circumstance become very ugly words in this couple’s vocabulary.

I love a good love story. I reread the first kiss a few times before I read on...even in my own books. That moment gets me every time no matter how often I revisit that beautiful connection. I dive into every story to the point where I have so many fictional boyfriends that I can't keep track of them all.
In the world of reality, I have a loving and tolerant husband who smiles and rolls his eyes every time I tell him about my latest fictional love affair. I have two autistic pre-teen boys who keep me on my toes. I have a psychotic Golden Retriever (I was told those don't exist...) and a cat that rules our house. I used to be the queen. Our regal feline has usurped my throne and demoted me to Prime Minister.
I studied English/Journalism at Miami University in Ohio, have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton and I spent five years teaching even more personality-rich pre-teens. For some sick reason, I actually enjoyed teaching junior high. Now as a stay-at-home mom, I'm clinging to that status by throwing my hat in the author's ring and hoping I get to keep it there.

Review:

Incredible Dreams is really an incredible story!! LOVED IT!!!  We meet Leona and Nate who have an instant connection that is unlike any other I have read before. Nate is literally the man of Leona's dreams! She dreamt of him before ever meeting him! And who doesn't love a sexy police officer with a dominate side? This story has a little of everything; you get suspense, mystery, romance, sexy steamy moments, and a gut retching ending that will leave you breathless! If you can figure what is going to happen next then you are a freaking genius!

There are twists and turns throughout the story that will keep you guessing until the end! And what an ending! It is a cliffhanger that will leave you with many questions. Leona and Nate are so relatable and easy to fall in love with. This was a unique story and I can not wait for the next book!

Teaser
He stretched out his hand to me. ”Come with me, don’t stay in here by yourself,” He walked me over to Alyssa's bedroom, “Go be with her and the two of you go and get Alexandra too. I’m gonna go and check out the house and even if you hear anything don’t come out, ok?”

There was no answer when I knocked for Alyssa, but when I walked in and turned on the lights, the scene in front of me made my heart turn to ice. Alyssa was sound asleep, but there was someone in the room with her. He was standing beside her and he was touching her, smelling her, he turned his face to look at me and dropped his hand to his side. It was him, still wrapped up in black clothes, but now he had some kind of mask on his face that only showed his eyes and his mouth.

He started walking towards me with a creepy grin and the way he did it made my skin crawl. I screamed. I screamed so loud that my own ears began to whistle. Alyssa woke up in a haze and started screaming alongside me when she saw him.

Within seconds Alex had burst through the door with a wooden baseball bat in her hand. She froze in horror when she saw me being choked. The creep had one hand around my neck and the other over my nose and mouth. It was so painful that I had fallen to the floor with him on top of me.

Alex snapped out of her shock and lunged at him with the bat. He ducked and it went straight over his head, causing her momentum to knock her off balance. Before he had a chance to stand up though, Alyssa jumped on him from behind, knocking him to the floor. As soon as he was down she pummeled him with her small fists, but he was too big. In seconds he’d flipped her over and had her pinned.

Alexandra sneaked up on him from behind, but he sensed the move and yanked the bat from her grip. Screaming, he took a swing at her and cracked her right on the knee. She stifled her grimace and pulled a kitchen knife from her back pocket and brandished it in the air. “Let go of her, you bastard,” she yelled.

At that point it looked like he smiled; doing nothing but tightening his grip on Alyssa. This infuriated Alex and she ran at him with the blade. Unable to keep hold of Alyssa without getting stabbed, he let her go and tripped Alex with his foot, causing her to stumble. He took advantage of her fall and grabbed her by both wrists. She tried to struggle out of his grip, but he stole her protection and held the blade against her throat. As he pushed the metal against her skin, the click of a gun sounded at the side of his head. Nathaniel had appeared from nowhere. “Drop the knife and step away from her, now.”

Book Trailer Video:

Excerpt:
Hey, Char, while Cash ain’t in here. Where the hell am I staying tonight? I mean, I don’t
want to intrude on y’all.”

“Piper, you can stay in there because you know as well as I do nothing is going to
happen.” She looks at me like whatever.

About that time Cash opens the truck door and climbs in. We make our way to campus,
up the stoop, and into Kluft. I am exhausted and need a shower to recoup before Hank’s
tonight. As we reach the top step, I can hear Caroline, Tori, Georgia, Jenny, Anna, and
Cassie in hall. They are singing to “Thrift Shop”blaring over the radio and dancing like
fools in the hallway.

Cash glances at me, “Oh lawd, what have I got myself into?” I just shrug my shoulders
and pull him down the hall. All the girls take their turn putting moves on him, and of
course, Anna has something to say. “Hey, Cowboy, I ain’t ever rode a cowboy before.”
With a wink Cash answers back, “Sorry, Sweetheart, but I ain’t a cowboy. I’m a
homegrown country boy that only has eyes for one little lady,” as he stares into my blue
eyes.

Ok, so you have Charley who is one big country girl. Has a good life. She is dating a real douche named Dylan and realizes that dating him was a mistake and so she hides her secrets from people. Her best friends are Piper and Cash. Cash knows her secrets and she turns to him and they start dating.

She then realizes that she wants to get away from the small town and experience college life, meet new friends and just live life to the fullest. Sounds like a great story and it has a lot of potential but I hate to say this because I hate giving bad reviews but this is one big clusterf*ck. The synopsis is horribly written, I had to stop reading just to look at it and I was really confused. The story is all over the place. Very fast paced and talks about EVERYTHING that could have been left out. It's also very amateur and all they do is wake up, go to class and party and it's says those lines a gazillion times.

What I do like about the story is the relationship between the characters. I love Cash, who is such a sweetheart and will always do anything for Charley. The friends that she makes in school are really great but just seem really immature. Then you'll also meet Joe. I really liked Joe who is that cocky bad boy who seems like he has secrets of his own which makes him all the more interesting to read about.  I'll stop there with him.

The very most disappointing thing is the end. It has a HUGE cliffhanger and if you hate them, than I don't recommend it until the second book is released. The book starts getting really good in the end toward the end of their semester and for it to end like it does was a huge downer. Although the book has many flaws, I will, however read the second one because I am dying to know how it finishes. I think that's what the author's intentions were anyway so that's that. You're just not prepared for it. It sneaks up out of nowhere.

Cheers,
   Holly

World After by Susan Ee Book Review

Thursday, November 21, 2013

In this sequel to the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what's left of the modern world.

When a group of people capture Penryn's sister Paige, thinking she's a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.

Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels' secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.

Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can't rejoin the angels, can't take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

Susan Ee has eaten mezze in the old city of Jerusalem, surfed the warm waters of Costa Rica, and played her short film at a major festival. She used to be a lawyer but loves being a writer because it allows her imagination to bust out and go feral.

Her debut novel was the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days series). Angelfall has been translated into 19 languages and the film rights have been optioned by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Good Universe.

You are invited to become her friend on Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads.

Omg. If I thought angelfall was good mrs. Ee has completely out done herself with this one.

**if you haven't read book one please stop reading this review now**

This book picks up were book one leaves off. Raffe is carrying penyrn's 'dead body' to the safety of her mothers arms after the battle. Heart broken, raffe leaves and plans his revenge on beliel.  One to get his wings back and two for penyrn's death. But is penyrn's really dead...umm nope. She was injected with a paralyzing agent from the scorpion.  Once the agent wore off she was a force to be reckoned with. Equipped with raffe sword she fights for her life and her family. The sword was a source of comfort for her in a sense it guided her on her path and back to the safe arms of raffe.

This book was full of twists and turns. I honestly wasn't expecting a lot that did occur in this one. All the secondary characters I absolutely loved. Paige my heart honestly broke for her. She had been turned into a medical/Frankenstein experiment and at one point in time her only source of comfort was beliel. But trust me this little girl is stronger than anyone gave her credit for. Paige's journey to take back her life and join the fight was an amazing part to read in this one.

Mrs. Ee gave her readers action, love, moments of healing, but most of all she gave HOPE! I love this series and can't wait for book three!

Great job mrs. ee.

Cheers,
Dr. Books

Eliza began her twenties at the height of popularity. She was beautiful, stylish, and as a professional painter, had the coolest career of all of her friends. Men from church were lining up to date her, but at age thirty, she finds herself out of money, living off family charity, and dating the nerdiest loser she's ever met with no better prospects on the horizon.

A phone call from her beloved aunt summons her to Oxford, England, where she has the opportunity to paint a series depicting the ideal romance, a project that will change the way she sees life and love forevermore.

Emily Mah Tippetts writes romance under the name E.M. Tippetts and science fiction and fantasy under the name Emily Mah. Before she was a published author, she was an attorney who specialized in real estate, contracts, and estate planning, especially literary estate planning.

Her most recent pro publications have been her science fiction and fantasy short stories in magazines like Black Gate, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, and the anthology, Shanghai Steam.

First you think this is a book about dying, the way one person deals with it in their life time, time and time again.

All the females in Eliza's family has suffered from a rare BRCA1 cancer, all have died.  Is she cursed as well, immune?  At a family reunion she meets her Aunt Nora, shunned by the family for what reason she doesn't know.  A bond is formed, and we learn of Nora's story in her eyes of her true love. Eliza being called upon by Nora, goes across the sea to be with her, take care of her and listen o her story.  A story she comes to ind out is just that.

She learns about love, life, surviving and comes to realize that she has been drawing her story.  The change within her is so great, the lessons she has learned has brought her the one thing she has always wanted.

This is not a story about dying, but about living.

Cheers to E.M. Tippits... Great story and even a greater lesson

Tease by Missy Johnson

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Male escort.

That got your attention.

Some of the most powerful and well known women in the country pay to have sex with me, some of them married. Some are into more than just straight sex, which is why they call me. Bondage, power play, submission…nothing is off the table. I will do anything for the right price.

The stories I could tell you about a certain high profile congresswoman, or that innocent blonde actress. Trust me, she’s not so innocent.

Guys would kill for my job. I’m living the fucking dream. Meaningless sex, no relationship hang-ups and I’m rolling in the dough. Life is perfect, just the way it is.

Until I meet her.

She changes everything.

She makes me want more than I’ve ever wanted for myself and she believes in me. But she also thinks I sell insurance. I can’t stop what I do, but I can’t give her up.

Eventually, my two worlds are going to collide and when they do, shit will hit the fan.

This was my first Missy Johnson read, and I am looking forward to more!!!

We start by meeting Coop, a male escort! We get to see parts of his life and you will grow to LOVE him, totally book boyfriend worthy! Coop defiantly does some interesting things with and for his clients. So all you little nymphos out there are going to love all the STEAM!

Coop is a really good guy who planned on being a doctor, but once he started he couldn't stop. I mean who would turn down a job that pays amazing to do what you already love doing? After a broken heart he doesn't let anyone in, and doesn't want to; or so he thought!

In walks Mia, barging BACK into his every thought!

Mia and his family have no idea what he does, they think he sells insurance! He doesn't want to stop, but he also won't give her up. Maybe he can keep them separate, but what kinda story would that be?
If you love steam, sexy men, and a good story, you will enjoy this read, even all the closet freaks ;-)
