The Sound of Us by Ashley Poston
America's favorite pop band, Roman Holiday, is done, dead, and so totally last year. For eighteen-year-old rockoholic Junie Baltimore, this is music to her ears. But when she discovers their sexy ex-lead singer hiding out on the boardwalk, her summer vacation becomes the cover story of the year.
She's willing to keep him a secret, but when a sleazy paparazzo offers her the cash she needs to save the bar her father left behind, could she sell out for the chance to save her future? Who is she kidding? That's a no-brainer...but she never planned on falling head over heels for the lead singer.

The Sound Of Us was a fun great read with lots of twists and turns that keep you interested the whole way. Junie is a spunky girl who lost her father but working hard to keep his business alive. She graduated high school and now runs his bar that has seen better days. It's on her annual family vacation, that she'd rather not attend, that she runs into the one man everyone is looking for, Roman Montgomery.
Roman has disappeared after his best friend and band mate, Holly, was found dead and ruled a suicide. After speculation of him murdering her and disappearing he wants to stay out of the lime light after already learning the hard way what the price of fame is. This is when he happen to cross paths with Junie that will leave them both changed forever.
I liked how easily they got each other and how they're relationship seems so easy and normal. It wasn't that they professed their love, but they really bonded as friends and I loved it because it seemed so genuine. After more and more time spent together though, Junie starts thinking that maybe they could be more.
She keeps his secret, but the nosey paparazzi won't give up. Once they are found, things are turned around and trust broken. You can definately see both side to everything that goes on, and you can't help but hurt for them. It's crazy to think that you can't trust anyone around you, I couldn't even imagine living like that. Losing his best friend really took a toll on Roman.
Junie tries to prove her Innocense, and in the process stumbles on something that changes EVERYTHING! And of course dealing with one issue isn't enough, her world is crashing down around her.
Junie, Mags, Roman, and Boaz are all easy to love and connect with. The flow of the story was good and the writing down well. It was fun reading their little expeditions and seeing them grow as the story unfolds. I wasn't sure how it was going to end, but it ended just right. It's not a cliffhanger, you get closure, but it seems to be open to a continuation story (which I totally hope for)!!!
Rating: 4.5 stars
