Reaching Eden by Ema Volf Book Review

Xander Hart is a rocker with a past. His career has brought him success in both money and women. However, he’s grown bored with the superficial. After he’s forced to leave one more dysfunctional relationship behind, he begins to take a hard look at his life, and he’s not happy with what he sees. His choices have taken a toll on him and his career, and not in a good way. He finds himself losing hope in ever finding happiness again.

That is, until he meets Eden Balestra, a small town girl with a knack for finding peace and enjoyment in the simplest of things. She shows him a world that he had long forgotten existed. Eden’s strength and compassion inspire him overnight, and he can’t get her out of his mind.

Unfortunately, Xander’s recent past returns with a vengeance, and Eden finds herself stuck in her worst nightmare. Despite her best efforts to remain above it, she is quickly torn down to the lowest she has ever been. She feels her mental and emotional states begin to crack. Can Xander reach her before she shatters?

Ema lives in Northwest Arkansas with her husband, son, cat, two dogs, chinchilla, and bird. She spends her days trying to balance the never-ending work of a homemaker and the schedules of all members of her household while remaining relatively sane.

An avid reader, what time she has to herself is usually spent buried in the pages of a book. She enjoys nearly every genre, but particularly enjoys paranormal fiction of all types and age ranges.

While she constantly has stories and characters rolling around in her head, Avery called to her the loudest. After several months of conversing with Avery, Ema decided to put pen to paper and let others visit Eirny and its beloved residents.

Reaching Eden is a book that almost didn’t get read.  It hit home in ways that you couldn’t imagine.  It’s a love story, story of survival, revenge and so much more.

What happens to Eden in the beginning of the book is anything but easy to stomach.  Her journey to become a survivor and not a victim is one that is amazing.  It grips you, makes you fall in love with her and those who are in her life.  Xander, a lost soul, rock n roll musician, just strolling down the street has his life changed forever when he is picked up by the one person that he will fall in love with, try to save and protect and dream of spending a life time with.

Reaching Eden is a gripping story and no I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under 18, but.. I do recommend highly.  It’s a story that reaches you, becomes you…

Cheers,

STEPH
