Synopsis

If you could do it all over again, would you still choose him? At age thirty-nine, Lucie Walker has no choice but to start her life over when she comes to, up to her knees in the chilly San Francisco Bay, with no idea how she got there or who she is. Her memory loss is caused by an emotional trauma she knows nothing about, and only when handsome, quiet Grady Goodall arrives at the hospital does she learn she has a home, a career, and a wedding just two months away. What went wrong? Grady seems to care for her, but Lucie is no more sure of him than she is of anything. As she collects the clues of her past self, she unlocks the mystery of what happened to her. The painful secrets she uncovers could hold the key to her future—if she trusts her heart enough to guide her.

This was a book that grabs you from the very first sentence. It was based on true events and what an incredible story!

We start by meeting Lucie in the water with no idea who she is or how she got there. She doesn't remember ANYTHING! It's not until her picture hits the news that pieces start coming together. Her Fiancé comes to take her home and Lucie is surprised about all the things she learns about herself. She can't believe the person that she was is so different from who she feels like now. There are some things she knows, but that has more to do with what, where, and how to do certain things; but nothing about her, her past, or anyone around her.

The more Lucie learns the more I grew to dislike but sympathize with her past self. She was very high maintenance and secretive about things she went through growing up. Grady, her fiancé, doesn't even really know about her past because she never would talk about it. Things are hard for him too, but he is somewhat happy to get a fresh start since she cannot remember the fight they had that drew her to leave.

It's really is an amazing story both written and plot. It's flows so well. You learn about both thier pasts and what brought them to where they are now. You see friendships blossoms and people grow. The story is written in multiple points of view which is perfect to know what each character thinks and feels. It keeps you hanging on until the end.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Cheers!
