The Truth about Faking by Leigh Moore Book Review

Jason just wants a date with Harley.
Harley just wants a date with Trent.
Trent's still getting over Stephanie.

When Harley and Jason decide to fake date, they uncover a school of deceptions. Trent's got a secret, but so does Jason. And the more time Harley spends secretly kissing her fake boyfriend, the further she gets from her dreams with Trent.

Worst of all, Harley's mom is getting cozy with her hot massage therapy student, and even Harley's Reverend Dad can't fake not being bothered by it. But when the masks finally come off, can everyone handle the real truth?

The Truth About Faking was a cute and easy read. I feel it reaches out to the younger crowd. I just couldn't get into this story at all. I felt myself dragging through it. I couldn't connect to the characters and it was just a lot of back in fourth with the characters.

Harley is a sweet girl who is a pastors daughter so she's innocent. She's been interested in Trent who used to be dating Stephanie. Then, there is Jason who is new in town and when an incident happens he meets Harley. He seems desperate to me at time and seems to never give up. Jason and Harley form a plan to "fake" date in hopes that Trent will notice her. Then you have Harley's best friend, Shelly who I found to be obnoxious and not who I would call a best friend. While Harley and Jason is "dating" she moves on to date Trent because that's her "plan" to help Harley win Trent.

You'll also see drama with her family especially when a situation happens with her mother and her student therapist.

It was just one big confusion with a he likes she but she like someone else story line. A lot could have been cut out. The story could have potential if there was more to the story then the teenage drama and actually have somewhat of a little background and a little more believable romance, in which wasn't really there either. I did like the ending though when everything fell into place for the characters.

Cheers,
Holly
