Susan Mac Nicol was born in Leeds, UK, and left for South Africa when she was eight. She returned to the UK thirty years later and now lives in Essex. Sue has written since she was very young, and never thought she would see herself being a Romance writer, being a horror/psychological thriller reader all her life. But the Romance genre is now something very close to her heart and she intends continuing the trend.

This was my first nook by mrs. Nicol.  This was also my first go at M/M. Mrs. Nicol gave her readers a pretty dark read as Alexander's love story was told. Unfournately to save the man you had to know the past from which he came. This book is not for the faint of heart. 

No one ever said love was easy and for sage/Alexander it's not. Alexander's demons are heartbreaking. They have left a broken man that has to use S&M as a source of therapy. Sage coming into Alexander's life was refreshing at moments. The banter between these two sometimes made you forget about the darkness but trust me it was only temporary. Sage also had his past to deal with at moments. Though he wasn't as broken as Alexander his scars ran deep. 

This love story was one of survival. These two men were a life line for each other in some serious dark moments. Their love story wasn't roses/chocolates but it was still unforgettable. Great job mrs. Nicol!
