Going Long by Ginger Scott Book Review

They fell in love in high school and found their way back to one another despite the odds. But can first loves really be forever? For Reed Johnson, the dream was always football. But then Nolan Lennox took over his heart. Is he willing to give up his first love just to keep his true love? Or will he be too late? Reed and Nolan’s story continues in "Going Long," sequel to "Waiting on the Sidelines."

Ginger Scott is a writer and journalist from Peoria, Arizona. Her debut novel, "Waiting on the Sidelines," is a coming-of-age love story that explores the real heartbreak we all feel as we become adults throughout our high school years. The story follows two characters, Nolan (a Tomboy with a baseball player's name) and Reed (the quarterback she wishes would notice her) as they struggle with peer-pressure, underage drinking, bullying and finding a balance between what your heart wants and what society says you should want -- even if you aren't ready. You can read her book now in Amazon's kindle store.

Scott has been writing and editing for newspapers, magazines and blogs for more than 15 years. She has told the stories of Olympians, politicians, actors, scientists, cowboys, criminals and towns. For more on her and her work, visit her website at http://www.littlemisswrite.com

Okay when was the last time a book really pissed you off to the point that if you didn't stop reading you'd throw your laptop, kindle or book right out the window>

This one did that for me.  SERIOUSLY!

Leave Nolan and Reed alone already!  They've gone through enough in high school and it just all followed them to college.  Just when you think everything was going right, smooth and wonderful kaboom!  Here comes another hurdle.  Nolan being pregnant, then thinking back to the past when Reed was tricked into thinking Tatum was pregnant and losing his scholarship. She didn't want that happening to him again, not with everything going so good with his football scholarship, his trying to decide whether to enter the draft or not.  They both thought the other was ignoring them, Gavin nor Jenny helped much.  Okay more Gavin than anyone.  Noles takes it so bad that she does the unthinkable, drunk of course, but still.  Then the dude decides to play it up and let Gavin think he spent the night with "his girl."  In comes Jenny who just happens to be Dylan Nichols' cousin and does a strip in front of a very drunk Reed.

Reed learns the truth about it all,, and swears that nothing is EVER going to separate him and Noles again.

Is there a happily ever after?  OMG, with these two who knows.  The way this book ends, makes one believe that maybe there is.

Let's just say my kindle, laptop and book are all still in one piece.

Cheers,
Steph
