Transcendence by Shay Savage Book Review

It’s said that women and men are from two different planets when it comes to communication, but how can they overcome the obstacles of prehistoric times when one of them simply doesn’t have the ability to comprehend language?

Ehd’s a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He’s strong and intelligent, but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful young woman in his pit trap, it’s obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. He doesn’t know where she came from; she’s wearing some pretty odd clothing, and she makes a lot of noises with her mouth that give him a headache. Still, he’s determined to fulfill his purpose in life – provide for her, protect her, and put a baby in her.

Elizabeth doesn’t know where she is or exactly how she got there. She’s confused and distressed by her predicament, and there’s a caveman hauling her back to his cavehome. She’s not at all interested in Ehd’s primitive advances, and she just can’t seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive, but beautiful, man is a constant – and often hilarious – struggle.

With only each other for company, they must rely on one another to fight the dangers of the wild and prepare for the winter months. As they struggle to coexist, theirs becomes a love story that transcends language and time.

Shay Savage lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband, two children, and a variety of household pets. She is an accomplished public speaker, and holds the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster from Toastmasters International. When not writing, she enjoys science fiction movies, masquerading as a zombie, is a HUGE Star Wars fan, and member of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers. When the geek fun runs out, she also loves soccer in any and all forms - especially the Columbus Crew, Arsenal and Bayern Munich - and anxiously awaits the 2014 World Cup. Savage holds a degree in psychology, and she brings a lot of that knowledge into the characters within her stories.

Mrs. Savage has given the typical caveman story we hear about growing up a whole new twist. This was the time travelers wife meets a sexier version of Fred flinstone in a sense. This was a love story of two people lost, scared and afraid. Yet with all the negative surrounding there situation they found a way to co exist. This co existing turned into something far greater, LOVE! This story reminded me of the  importance of communication in a relationship. This love story was a reminder that the greatest/successful relationships aren't just about the physical displays of love but the thought provoking moments of what goes unspoken between partners. The communication barrier between BAH/EHD was tough at times but when you truly love someone you know what they want, think, and sense their emotions etc. Mrs. Savage words can't explain how much I enjoyed this caveman love story. I'm just saying ladies if you find a man that will make you a Maxie pad from scratch KEEP HIM! I devoured this book and have been raving to all my fellow bookworm/co workers about it.  What's interesting is I saw this Facebook post today that was basically stating how to make a man/woman happy in a relationship. Based on a few of these things on this list. EHD had this down during the caveman era (See Facebook posting below)!

Mrs. Savage gave her readers a sweet, romantic, sexy love story with time travel (thank you for the epilogue by the way).  Great job mrs. Savage!

Cheers,

Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams Blog Tour

Forgiving Lies Synopsis:
A matter of secrets...
Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies...
Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...
As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

About Molly McAdams:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Before starting this book I was in a slump and just couldn't get into anything I started reading. I picked this up and stayed up until I finished! Which was 3am and I had to get up at 530 :-) So needless to say it was AMAZING!!!

I will say this is a bit of an intense read and deals with subjects that include rape, kidnapping, and a serial killer. IF you cannot handle reading about those then this may not be for you. I will say though that the manner things are done is not gruesome or sickening (to me anyways) so its not really like a dark read.

Oh... and there is lots of STEAM!!!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

We meet Rachel who is a junior in college. She and her best friend Candice left their hometown in California to go to the great state of Texas for school. After losing her parents in high school, Rachel lives with Candice's family since they have been close forever.

Candice's cousin. who Rachel was in love with growing up, is now working at the school and has a thing for Rachel. After months of asking her out and being turned down, Rachel decided to go on one date so that Candice will leave her alone. Well one date turns into more time hanging out and Rachel starts pushing away. After a crazy incident, Rachel confesses something to Candice who doesn't believe her. Candice annoyed the crap out of me a bit in this book, but she does redeem herself somewhat in the end. BUT there were many times when a virtual pimp slap was given :-)

For the summer the decide to stay in Texas instead of going home and rent an apartment off campus. This is were Rachel and Candice meet their new neighbors that are extremely delicious!

Kash and Mason have to leave Florida after a bust on an undercover case. They are sent to Texas and have to keep their identity a secret while they are working on looking for a serial killer. Kash is continuously warning Mason not to get involved with Candice, their new neighbor, but can't stay away from Rachel. Kash and Rachel are easily one of my all time favorite book couples. They fight so hard to not want each other but it soooo does not work. They are both witty and fun and just great people.

BUTTTTTTTTT

Rachel thinks Kash is a bartender, not a cop. Things that have happened in Rachel's past come out as creepy things keep happening, and this just brings them all closer together. Well then of course some relationships start to change and secrets come out; forcing Rachel to hurt the people she cares about in order to keep them safe. This is when the book gets emotional and goes kinda fast. I felt like I was holding my breathe for hours!!

Molly is an amazing writer and storyteller. I loved how nothing seemed rushed but also didn't go slow. They all became friends and captured a piece of my heart. You get an ending, BUT...

***If you cannot handle a cliffhanger then just do not read epilogue***

I however think that the ending is what makes the story. This cliffhanger will leave you gasping and holding you breathe. Book 2 comes out on March 4th so its not to long to wait.

Thank you Molly for gracing us with your talent. I recently discovered you live in AUSTIN which is only an hour from me! And since you know a thing or two about stalkers, my antics wont come as a shock :-)

LOVED IT!!!!!!!

Taming Casanova by MJ Carnal a Book Review

As the Casanova of the Moretti Men, Kevin Merck spent his life capturing the eye of multiple women. His conquests were legendary. But life isn’t always what it seems. After saving his best friend, Ryan West, with a bone marrow transplant, he became a permanent fixture in the Moretti family. While everyone was getting their lives back, something went terribly wrong. Turning to Dr. Jena Turner for help, he underwent his own personal health crisis in private. Keeping his secret was a risk he was willing to take to protect those he loved most.

Kevin spent his days in the gym as a personal trainer and travelled the country as the face of a fitness franchise. Hot and steamy, he had his choice of women in every city. He had never met a woman he couldn’t charm the pants off, until he met the clever and smart mouthed Andi Allen. Her fiery personality and witty comebacks drew him in and wouldn’t let go.

After finishing medical school, Andi moved back to LA to be near her brother, Caleb Allen. She had a front row seat for Kevin’s conquests. Affectionately naming him “Deuce”, Andi wouldn’t let him forget his predisposition for multiple partners. Always at each other’s throats, Kevin and Andi set off explosive fireworks each time they crossed paths. If fighting was truly foreplay, these two were in for an amazing ride.

But when things seem too good to be true, they often are. People can be gone in the blink of an eye. In a minute, love can be lost and hearts can be broken. The Moretti family is rocked to the core. As they struggle to heal, can they find strength in their bond? Can they turn to each other or will heartbreak tear them apart? Is love enough to save one of their own?

Taming Casanova is the fourth book in The Moretti Novels by MJ Carnal.

MJ Carnal is an adult fiction author. Her first book, Taming the Bachelor, will be released in July 2013. This is the first book in the Dickerman/Moretti Novels. Books two and three will be released late summer and late fall 2013.

This is Kevin Merck's story and book 4 in the Moretti Series. I have enjoyed this series and have grown to love each one as each story progresses.

This story of Kevin and Andi is so full of friendships, love, and will have your emotions everywhere. Andi and Kevin's relationship is a love/hate type. Their chemistry is off the charts and you're just waiting for them to tear off their clothes and go at it, and trust me you'll get it! Kevin is known for his playboy ways and Andi isn't one to be another notch in his bedpost and makes it very clear. Kevin feels differently about Andi and she awakens something deep inside of him that he's never felt before. He just has to prove to her that he's not what he used to be.

Just when you think everything is falling into place, tragedy hits the Moretti family nobody is sure of anything. One thing with this family is that they are so close and nothing can break their bond. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time with a box of tissues and I wasn't sure if I could move on because you feel so connected with the characters and it was so heartbreaking to read. I don't provide any spoilers so you'll have to read it for yourself to find out what happens next!  You won't be disappointed that's for sure.

I wouldn't recommend this as a standalone due to the revolving characters from previous books.

Cheers,
Holly

Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy Book Review

Breakout New Adult sensation Monica Murphy returns with a hot new contemporary romance—a heartfelt story of second chances, forgiveness, and redemption.

Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.

I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of new adult contemporary romance. A believer in kissing. A believer of love.

I'm a wife, a mom and I live in California.

So this is the story of Colin and Jen. You meet them in Second Chance Boyfriend, so I would recommend read these books in order to you get every characters story and background. This story is full of heartbreak and angst and just two broken people and need saving.

Colin is in the restaurant business and is sexy, very successful, smart. He doesn't do relationships because he doesn't let people get close. He has memories that still haunt him of Jen's brother Danny. They all grew up together. Danny end up being killed while on duty and it basically killed the family. He has guilt that is eating him alive.

Jen has lived with nothing but heartbreak. Dealing with the loss of her brother which tore the family apart she moves away from family and it leaves her to survive on her own. Colin came to her rescue and took her under his wing and provided for her. They have this smokin' hot chemistry but Colin is afraid to act upon it and it just pushes Jen away. She wants more from Colin and one moment she feels like they could be something but other times it just seems like their friends. I didn't like all the back and forth with these two trying to figure their way of being together. I wanted to smack both of these characters when secrets are revealed and decisions have to be made.

The ending is a HEA and I'm glad to see this couple grow. Can't wait for the next installment!

Cheers,
Holly

This is my second book by Mrs. Lynn. Oh evan. Trust me he is a character from book one you can't help but remember. You no that guy in secret you are cheering for to come out on the winning side, that was my relationship with evan in the last book. In book one not going to lie you could find yourself questioning why the heck is this man putting himself through this when he could possibly have any woman (or any sane/good woman, my opinion).  Well this is Evans story. For all of us that wondered "what the heck was going through his mind at moments? " we finally get the answers to those questions.

This one can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend you read book one  before you read this one. I need you to get the full effect of evan! I loved him in book one but absolutely fell harder for him in this one. Did I always agree with certain situations? No....But did I continue to cheer for him in the hopes he would find someone to appreciate all the love he can give? Yes yes yes!!

I enjoyed Evans story, maybe even more so because he was one of my favorite characters in the beginning of this series. This blogger is team evan. The secondary characters in this one were ok. I had my moments with The women in his life, when I say moments I literally mean that.  Mrs. Lynn good job. Evan is a dream!

My advice to new authors.

If you are a new author, it’s because you have a passion for writing. For some new authors starting out it can be rough, it’s hard to promote and get known if you don’t know anyone. It will be frustrating at times, when sales are down, rankings are down and when you have a several bad reviews. Just remember for every bad review there is a good review. You have captured someone’s heart with your writing. Whether it be they like your characters, or they like the story line. Not everyone will like your books, and not everyone will buy them.

Talking with other authors, and bloggers helps get your name out there. It also gives you a chance to meet new people and fellow authors. Never give up on something that you have wanted just because a few people don’t like your style. Keep writing and keep on promoting. Let people know who you are and that you’re a new author. Just keep doing your thing, keep writing the stories that come to your mind. Keep making the books that make you happy. I always think, I’m doing this for myself, and I realize as one of my author friends told me lately. I am my own worst critic. Good Luck <3

Like every blogger (or at least I hope so) we get so overwhelmed with books we are suppose to read some get lost in the shuffle. Well that's what happened with me and this one. This is book 2 in Mrs. Moore's dragonfly series. Book 1 left me with broken hearts, possible futures and so serious secrets.

**if you haven't read book 1 please stop reading this review now.**

This book picks up where book one ended. Anna has uncovered the biggest secret that could up root a town and the lives of those she hold dear. Specifically her ex boyfriend and her current boyfriend. Anna life is changing for the good or so she thought. She has a job at the local paper but the burden of this secret is weighing on her and she could loose the man she is falling for hard, Julian.

You know the saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer, well bill kyser was anything but nice to Anna in the beginning. However oh how the tables have turned when secrets stand a chance
Of resurfacing. Bill goes to Anna with a proposition, learn the complete truth before making the decision to tell a secret that has lay hidden for so many years. To aid her in telling his story bill gives Anna three journals that he hopes will explain the things he couldn't speak.

In book one mrs moore gave us the story of the kids now in this one we see the story of their parents. Bill, Meg and Alex lived a life of love, heart break and even loss. Through bills journals you get the gut wrenching truth, happy times, and even a few WTH moments. I can honestly admit I really didn't like bills character in book 1 but after reading this one it showed me a different side of the man.

This was a good read. I did miss the drama of Anna and Julian though. Good job mrs. Moore.

Cheers,
