Stripped by Brooklyn Skye Book Review

Goodreads Description:

“I like you.” His voice is low and soft, which I don’t deserve. I look away, down the rutted parking lot.
“Don’t... waste those words on me.”
He touches my cheek. “You just need someone to show you.”
“No.” I ease back again. “I don’t. So please, Torrin, stop trying to swoop in and save me. I don’t need saving.”

College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

Book Review:
I can honestly say the blurb I read on Goodreads didn't do this book justice.  It was so much more.  What happens when two damaged people fall in love but the SECRET between them holds the potential to rip them apart? Well look no further because this is the story Mrs. Skye gave her readers with her debut novel.

This is Quinn's story. When we're first introduced to Quinn, she's just found out her college education may be ending sooner than she thought. Why you ask? SCANDAL!!! Geez I love a good scandal. Her father was dean at another college and lost his job for giving grades/credit to enhance the sports department. Ok I'm from the south and this is football country. So imagine my surprise when this is over rowing, smh!

Well Quinn is left with one option: pay her own tuition. But what job pays you enough to earn thousands of dollars in a matter of weeks? MODELING! Well not just any modeling But posing naked in a art studio. Needless to say Quinn jumps at the opportunity.

Quinn's character was a tough one at times. She was dealing with so much. The sucidie of her sister, (which she believes is due to love) and now her whole school thing. Equipped with hiding her emotions and ready to never fall in love ofcourse the opposite happens. Quinn encounters the captain of the rowing team (torrin) and a blossoming friendship begins.

Torrin's character is adorable. His jock, sweet guy image is great. Torrin/Quinn's story wasn't one of a hot/steamy love affair. It was one of simple friendship that blossomed into more. The inner demons these two hold are intense but its nothing compared to the secret between them.  The ending of this book was great. If I didn't already love Torrin this pushed me over to his team for good.

Great job Mrs. Skye on your debut novel!

** I was provided an ARC for an honest review.**
